Education Corner Golf season is almost here!! With that being said our education schedule for this winter is wrapping up and we have some great events In March for our membership to take advantage of! I want to take a moment to thank David Kohlberg who put on a great business seminar at Bogey Hills CC this past month. We welcomed Fred Harre from Northwestern Mutual to come and discuss financial opportunities

to those that attended. It was a great seminar and we thank David for making that happen. This winter we have had great attendance for all of our s eminars so I want to thank all of our membership for making that happen. The education of our golf professionals is a very important part of the Gateway PGA and that is why I am very excited about the attendance thus far! We have a few more beneficial events in March so please mark your calendars now!!

Membership Notes The 2013 Tournament Calendar and Directory is at the printer and will be available to pick up at the Spring Business Meeting on March 25. The PGA of America assists us in organizing and populating the facility and member sections based on the information they have in their database. We hope that your information is listed correctly because it was taken directly from the updates done by members and apprentices when their employment and contact information is updated in PGA Links. If you have any problems getting it done in Links you can call the office and I will help. This year we are very excited to announce that the entire calendar will be available in digital form on the GPGA website. You will be able to find it easily and use it as a resource along with the printed calendar. A big plus for adding the calendar to the website is that we will be able to update information throughout the year. We will be able to keep employment up to date, any facility additions or deletions, any change in lines the sales reps carry, and so forth. The digital calendar is another important reason to keep your employment information current. We will have the MSR cycle and requirements posted on the website inside the calendar. You can also view it at www.pgalinks.com. The current cycle ends June 15, 2015 so there is time to make sure you get the credits required. As always there will be ample education opportunities offered plus many ways to earn credits through participating in section and foundation activities. The PGA of America now processes all payments the section makes to facilities, vendors, members and apprentices. They require a W-9 form from all facilities and vendors with payments due from the section. If your facility has never hosted a section activity I will send a W -9 form to be completed and returned. This is a one-time requirement; the completed forms are kept on file here and at the PGA. Members and apprentices do not need to fill out a form. If you want to have payments directly deposited by the PGA I will send you the form to fill out. Check requests and invoices are sent to the PGA A/P department for processing each Wednesday. Vendors, members and apprentices with direct deposit forms on file can expect payment several days sooner than having checks mailed. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please contact us.
