RESONANCE

Tricia Sabey’s new body of work reflects the journey of capturing cultural knowledge from oral and literate traditions. In ancient cultures, scrolls were the earliest handwritten format for documenting this vital knowledge.
Referencing the abstract qualities found in the landscape and the earth itself, these artworks vibrate with their individual patterns from the colour striations of nature.
Each piece has been rolled into a scroll and placed in Perspex ‘Sarcophagi’ vessels to reflect deeper meanings that can be gleaned from the land, and the preservation of cultural knowledge in architectural spaces
Tricia is a resident artist at Gasworks Arts Park and has had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group shows at galleries in Melbourne including Gasworks.
In 2005 she won the Two Dimensional award at the Williamstown Contemporary Art Exhibition held in The Substation
