the saul collection
Elegant and meaningful, our new Saul Collection continues the long-time Gaspard tradition of fine Vestments and Paraments that proclaim the gospel. We have created this new collection using the latest printing technology, Sublimation, which is a chemical process where a solid turns into a gas without going through a liquid stage. Creating long lasting garments that will never crack or fade. As always, Gaspard is proud to say "Made in the USA".

WHAT IS SUBLIMATION PRINTING? Sublimation is a chemical process where a solid turns into a gas without going through a liquid stage. Sublimation printing, also known as dye sublimation printing, is a popular printing method for transferring images onto suitable materials. Typical printing methods involve a step with water, where the solid turns to water before a gaseous state. Sublimation printing does not involve the liquid step but goes right from solid to gas due to a chemical reaction (like dry ice).
HOW DOES SUBLIMATION PRINTING WORK? This typically involves the use of a digital printer to produce images on sublimation transfer paper with sublimation ink. The sublimation paper is then placed into a heat press with the material and exposed to high temperatures of about 350 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This is when the ink and transfer material turn from solid to gas. Once they are in a gas state, they permeate the fibers of the material - meaning the image will never crack peal or fade. When the heat is removed from the transfer paper and substrate, the ink that has permeated the fibers solidifies and is locked permanently into place by the transfer material. Not only does the heat release the gas from the sublimation ink, but it opens the pores of the material you are transferring the image to. Once the pressure and heat are released, the sublimation ink returns to its solid state and the fabric pores close, trapping the ink inside.

The unique process of Sublimation offers Gaspard the ability to custom create custom banners (big or small), chasubles, dalmatics, copes, stoles altar hangings and much more for your Church or institution. I couldn’t be more proud of our team, and the effort that went into to creating this chasuble and process. THE CREATION OF THE SAUL COLLECTION
This magnificent collection was a team collaboration mainly inspired by Sandy Aull, who has been with Gaspard for many years. Outside of work, Sandy is a wonderful artist who loves to create abstract, inspirational works of art in her home studio. The challenge was converting Sandy’s original painting to a viable digital format. Lauren Ninmer, Gaspard’s Senior Graphic Illustrator, was able to recreate Sandy’s work using a tablet. This allowed Lauren to act as if she was painting on canvas, laying down every detailed brush stroke, one by one. Once completed, the vision came to life.
