ORDERING ALTAR LINENS

When choosing altar linens, keep in mind they should be the exact width of the altar top (mensa) and have an even drop on both sides. A typical drop is one-third or two-thirds of the way from the altar to the floor. When using colored seasonal paraments, the drop at the side of the Altar Linen should match the drop at the front of the Superfrontal, Antependium or other coverings.

Altar linens have 2” hems, mitred corners and are machine hemmed. Optional embroidered crosses at the corners and center help in correct placement of the cloth on the altar. Illustrations above show suggested placement.
