REDISCOVER GEORGIA SHAKESPEARE 2014 is not just our 29th Season, it is also a year of rediscovery of what Georgia Shakespeare is in our community, even as we boldly look forward to an inspiring new future. We invite you to be a part of this season as we rediscover Georgia Shakespeare in a bigger, bolder, and better way! BIGGER. We are bringing you more theatre and more Shakespeare! With five all-new shows, including two new Shakespeare productions of As You Like It and Henry V, two World premieres, a new holiday show unlike any other, and a regional premiere of a smash hit. BOLDER. So many fresh, new productions this season! We are boldly delivering timeless stories in ways that resonate here and now. We’re bravely presenting the southeast regional premiere of One Man, Two Guvnors, London’s smash hit comedy. We are introducing a new generation to the classic Brothers Grimm tale, The Frog Prince, with a world premiere musical adaptation that appeals to modern kids. We are boldly challenging Atlanta to discover pantomania—the raucous fun of the traditional English phenomenon known as A Holiday Panto. Collaborating with new partners to create a brand new, rowdy, interactive holiday spectacle that our city won’t soon forget. BETTER. Georgia Shakespeare has always been the place to eat and drink before and after the show. And now, thanks to generous gifts, we’re redesigning our picnic experience for the first time since we moved into the Conant, back in 1996. With upgraded furniture and facilities and our Official Picnic Partner, Newk’s Eatery, we invite you to rediscover the best place to picnic with friends and family in Atlanta.

Chris Kayser. A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM 2009

This season is about bold rediscovery. And isn’t that what we do every day at Georgia Shakespeare? We empower modern audiences to rediscover classic stories told in bold and relevant ways. Come along for the ride. This season will transform you (and us!) in ways you never imagined!

Rosalind believes “love is a madness,” and we agree! Get caught up in the mad antics of romance with us when our new production of As You Like It opens in the Conant!

T

his pastoral comedy features one of Shakespeare’s most vibrant heroines, Rosalind, who falls suddenly and madly in love with the dashing Orlando. When she is banished from the court by her devious uncle, Rosalind disguises herself as a boy named Ganymede and flees to the magical Forest of Arden, where the lives of all who enter are transformed. After Orlando also arrives, Arden abounds with life, beauty, music, and yes, a whole lotta love.
