Santa Claus is coming to town this month. Here are the places you can find him and his elves in north central Connecticut this holiday season. • For a blast from Christmas past, you can take a trolley ride during the Connecticut Trolley Museum’s Winterfest and the Tunnel of Lights, with a choice of a closed car or an open ride on the “electric sleigh” through the Tunnel of Lights. After the ride, you can head into the visitors center for a winter wonderland with model trains, decorations and hot cocoa and snacks. Santa will have a gift for each child, and visitors are invited to take pictures with the jolly old elf. Winterfest and the Tunnel of Lights are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 29, but Santa will head back to the North Pole after Dec. 22. Tickets must be purchased at the trolley museum and are good only on the night purchased. There are no advance tickets sales for groups or individuals. Ticket sales end at 9 p.m., but trolleys continue to run until everyone gets to ride. Visit www.ct-trolley.org to register and for more information and for group visit information. • Enjoy cookies, crafts and photos

with Santa, as ShopRite of Enfield holds a fundraiser for ShopRite Partners In Caring, which supports local food banks on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The store owned by the Miller Family will be hosting this event. Children pay $8 a ticket to get a photo, enjoy crafting and have cookies and milk. Pre-registration is required for this event at the grocery store. Register at the store’s customer service desk, or by emailing Marybeth.duffy@wakefern.com by Dec. 7. • Children of all ages can visit with Santa at Six Flags New England in Agawam, Mass., as it hosts its annual Holiday in the Park Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 29, and also Dec. 23, 26 and 27. Visit www.sixflags.com/newengland/specialevents/holiday-in-the-park for a listing of events and ticket prices. • Sonny’s Place in Somers is offering its North Pole Experience through Dec. 30. The events feature visits from Santa, as well as holiday attractions, food and shows. Hours through Dec. 29 are Friday through Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. plus Dec. 26 and 30. Onsite admission is $20 for adults and chil-
