Seeking People for Somersville Planning Committee SOMERS - The Town of Somers is seeking people interested in developing a long-range plan for the Somersville section of Main Street. These people would come together as a planning committee that considers a wide range of questions as regards Main Street in Somersville, from major ones such as what types of uses are preferred for that area and what changes in zoning regulations need to be made to support those uses to more modest questions such as what type of sidewalk is preferred and should it be adjacent
to the paved part of the street or set back some distance. The town would like to appoint to the committee residents and business owners from the Somersville area as well as other citizens from town. The Board of Selectmen would like to have the committee fully appointed by the end of August and then would like to see the committee present a final plan by spring of 2007. People interested in serving on the committee should contact the selectmen’s office at 763-8200 or selectman@somersct.gov.
