Skywhale

‘Life came from the sea and morphed into

hooved creatures: some went back to the deep oceans, and adapted, like the whale mammal... What might have evolved had they taken to the air instead…’ P a t r icia P icci n i n i

The world–renowned Australian artist Patricia Piccinini has produced one of the most talked about and sensational outdoor artworks of recent years, the Skywhale. Piccinini creates extraordinary creatures that evoke joy, wonder, tenderness, and concern. The magnificent Skywhale, 100 feet long and 70 feet tall, first took flight over the Australian capital Canberra in 2013 and has delighted audiences ever since.
