Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family.

Anastasia features a book by celebrated playwright Terrence McNally, a lush new score by Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics) based on original direction by Tony Award-winner Darko Tresnjak with choreography by Peggy Hickey and tour direction by Sarah Hartmann.

I n Twisted Tales of Edgar Allan Poe, five stories from Edgar Allan Poe are brought to life through illustrated projections, shadow work, and macabre musical interludes. Like torn pages from the haunted mind of a man in love with melancholy, we present Poe’s tales and poems: “The Tell Tale Heart,” “The Fall of The House of Usher,” “The Raven,” “The Imp of the Perverse,” and “The Black Cat.”In one tale, we enter the mind of someone who has witnessed the death of their lover or has, perhaps, been responsible for it. In another, a man discovers a savage family curse and fears that his future brother-in-law has entombed his bride-to-be prematurely.

Price | Symphony No. 3 in C minor

Conductor Anthony Parnther will lead the MSO in their Classics Series finale. The program will open with Mozart’s Requiem which has been a fixture in the choral-orchestra repertoire for over two centuries. And the Classics Series will end similarly to how it began, with Florence Price’s Symphony No. 3, a symphony filled with influences of blues, jazz, ragtime.

Two legendary founders of The Rascals are together again, and they’re coming to the Center for the first time ever. What a great addition to the American Graffiti Festival weekend! Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish cite the fans and love of their timeless songs as reasons for collaboration. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, Grammy Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame and Songwriter Hall of Fame members, The Rascals are widely considered the best ‘blue-eyed soul’ group to come out of the 1960s and their music is the soundtrack of a generation. The Rascals have 17 Top 20 hits, seven Top 10 hits, and three No.1 hits: “Groovin’, “People Got To Be Free” and “Good Lovin’.”

Riverdance as you’ve never seen or heard it before—a powerful and stirring re-invention of this beloved favorite, celebrated the world-over for its Grammy award-winning score and the excitement, energy and dynamism of its Irish and International Dance. Renowned composer Bill Whelan brings this mesmerizing soundtrack back to life, completely revitalized for the first time since those original orchestral recordings. Producer Moya Doherty and Director John McColgan have produced an amazing new 25th Anniversary production with innovative and spectacular lighting, projection, staging and costume design, and an all-new finale number which will blow audiences away.

The Riverdance 25th Anniversary production originally was announced prior to pandemic, and was rescheduled three times. Seating choices may be limited due to prior sales for the shows on May 17 and 18. The Gallo Center has chosen to add the third show on May 16 to provide additional options for our patrons.

FOR ANASTASIA! BROADWAY DAY SERIES STUDENT MASTERCLASS

The focus of this masterclass is vocal performance. Students will learn a brief history of the real Anastasia Romanov, how her story was crafted into a beloved animated movie musical, and how the animated musical transformed to the stage. Students will then learn excerpts from Anastasia with opportunities for solo performances. Recommended for grades 4+.
