The Gallo Center Repertory Company last presented All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 in 2021, and it was so well-received we had to revive it for this holiday season. Based on the true story of Christmas Eve night during the first year of World War I, this a cappella musical presents a vision of peace, hope, and camaraderie against a backdrop of war.
Come experience the magic of Christmas with an all-local cast of actors performing beautiful renditions of classic carols including "Silent Night," "Auld Lang Syne," and many more. With direction by guest artist Roberta Inscho (Oregon Shakespeare Festival) and music direction by Polly Vasché (Founder, Central Valley Youth Chorus) this is a holiday tradition you don't want to miss!

SCENES FROM THE REAL CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914
The Christmas Truce of 1914 occurred five months after WWI hostilities had begun. In the week leading up to December 25, French, German and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. In some areas, men from both sides ventured into no man's land to mingle and exchange food and souvenirs. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in caroling. The truce remains a symbolic moment of peace and humanity amidst one of the most violent conflicts in human history. [Source: Wikipedia]

The essence of a great partnership is that we are Better Together.
That is why I am proud to share news of our partnership with the prestigious UC Davis Medical School at our teaching hospital, Doctors Medical Center (DMC), for residency programs to develop the next generation of physicians in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN). These programs headline our existing residency programs in Family Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, which draw from medical schools throughout the United States.
Additionally, we have significant partnerships with Stanford Medicine and Valley Children’s Medical Group. Both of these partnerships feature engagement with physician specialists right here in the Central Valley. Stanford oncology physicians provide advanced, proven treatment methods at the Emanuel Cancer Center in Turlock, while Valley Children’s partnerships are at both DMC’s and Emanuel Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) as well as at the Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic on the DMC campus.
