Celebrate Pride Month with a journey through the past 50 years of Pride music! From Donna Summer and Queen to George Michael, Lady Gaga and more, these essential songs take us from disco to the present day. The story of the fight for LGBTQ+ equality is linked to this music, and Pride Anthems delivers an inspiring experience commemorating the legacy and power of the Stonewall Riots. Featuring Natalie Joy Johnson, Kevin Smith Kirkwood and JonMichael Reese, stars from Broadway, Off Broadway and cabaret, Pride Anthems is a celebration of where the LGBTQ+ community has come from and how far it has come since Stonewall.

Pride Anthems is produced in partnership with Pride Live and Joe’s Pub. A portion of the proceeds for PRIDE ANTHEMS will be donated to Pride Live and the Stonewall National Monument Visitors Center which will open in June 2024.

Vulgar, egotistic junkman Harry Brock has come to a swanky hotel in Washington to make crooked deals with government bigwigs. Accompanying him is the charming but dumb ex-chorus girl Billie Dawn, whose lack of social graces embarrasses even Harry. Enter young, idealistic reporter Paul Verrall, hired by Harry to educate Billie and make her more presentable. Romance ensues, as does Billie’s realization that Harry is a crook who has made her a tool in his schemes to defraud the public. As Billie prepares to leave Harry, she helps Paul get hold of incriminating documents of Harry’s which will result in scandal and disaster. This comedy-drama became a celebrated film starring Judy Holliday and William Holden.

The MSO will close out its Classics Series with Ludwig van Beethoven’s epic Symphony No. 9. This symphony has reached beyond concert halls across the globe and become part of popular culture, most notably with the “Ode to Joy” theme in the final movement. Featuring the MSO Chorus and four spectacular soloists, this concert captures Beethoven’s vision of hope with power and authenticity.
