The importance given to media influences communication and social development, yet children’s stages of growth and patterns of development have not changed. ALEXANDER Using a Professor in Residency Opportunity to Promote Classroom Management Professional Development Dr. Gordon Eisenman, Georgia Regents University University faculty are teaching through a faculty in residence arrangement with local elementary schools. This presentation will enumerate the lessons learned along the way, the multiple opportunities for research, and the ways all partners are working to ensure professional development for all educators involved. DUBIGNON Teacher Candidates and Collaborating Teachers’ Responses to edTPA’s Impact on Teacher Preparation Dr. Anete Vásquez, Kennesaw State University Data from surveys, focus groups, and numerous interviews of teacher candidates, collaborating teachers, and university supervisors were gathered over a five-semester period. Findings were used in a proactive manner to create a collaborative structure with all stakeholders for the long-term implementation of edTPA, ultimately resulting in improved teacher preparation and candidates who are focused on the learning of all students.
