Proiectul tratează două terenuri din centrul municipiului Tecuci. În prezent, ele găzduiesc Clubul Copiilor și Colegiul Național „Spiru Haret”, cu alte cuvinte, împreună reprezintă nucleul educațional cel mai aproape de centru.
Oportunitatea proiectului constă în valorificarea unui potențial existent, în urma căreia două obiective pot fi atinse simultan: sporirea învățării pentru tinerii membri ai comunității și închegarea comunității în întregimea ei. Astfel se conturează ideea unui program hibrid, totodată educațional și comunitar, definit sub semnul spațiilor educaționale complementare.
Spațiile complementare în cele două ipostaze funcționează sensibil diferit, dar au în comun calități care le înscriu în acest tip de program. Natura poziției lor în interiorul insulei urbane, protejate de elemente puternice în relația cu spațiul public, dar și caracterul activităților desfășurate – creație, experiment, dezbatere, colaborare – le definește ca spații incubator. În același timp, noile spații răspund la nevoile comunității, recuperând dotări dispărute sau introducând unele noi, necesare.
Căutarea, arhitectural, a constat în definirea unei atitudini unitare pentru intervenția în ambele situri, unde sunt deja prezente o serie de construcții eterogene stilistic și cu grade diferite ale valorii lor arhitecturale – de la construcții tipizate șaizeciste până la case aristocratice interbelice. Compoziția celor două terenuri în prezent nu reprezintă altceva decât rezultatul unor suprapuneri succesive în urma schimbărilor destinațiilor lor și a orașului – un palimpsest.
Astfel, conceptul se rezumă la identificarea unor elemente definitorii ale celor două terenuri – fie construite, fie neconstruite – și definirea unor spații diferențiate prin așezarea atentă a noilor volume în relație cu acele elemente care conferă identitate locului.
Teodor DascăluThe project deals with two sites în the center of Tecuci. Currently, they belong to the Children’s Club and the ‘Spiru Haret’ high school; în other words, together they represent the educational node that is the closest to the town center.
The opportunity for the project consists în capitalizing on an existing potențial, following which two objectives can be reached simultaneously: enhancing the learning experience for the young members of the community and strengthening the community as a whole. Thus arises the idea of a hybrid program, at the same time educational and dedicated to the community, defined în the key of complementary educational spaces.
The complementary spaces în their two instances function slightly differently, but have în common qualities that inscribe them în this type of program. The nature of their position inside the urban fabric, protected by strong elements relating to the public space, as well as the type of activities hosted – creation, experiment, debate, collaboration – define them as incubator spaces. At the same time, new spaces respond to the needs of the community, restoring some formerly present functions and introducing others, new, necessary.
The search, architecturally, consisted în defining a unitary attitude towards the intervention în both sites, where there are already present a series of buildings that are stylistically heterogeneous and have a varying degree of architectural value – from standardized ‘60s constructions to interwar aristocratic dwellings. The present composition of the two sites is nothing more than the result of successive superimpositions following changes of use, of the town itself – a palimpsest.
The new intervention represents an attempt to bring them all together. Therefore, the concept boils down to the identification of the defining elements of the two sites – built or unbuilt – and the definition of differentiated spaces through the careful placement of the new volumes în relation to the elements that give identity to the place.
