The 5-day fashion extravaganza the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013 began in Delhi on 22nd August; Designer Manish Malhotra presented a vibrant festive and pre-bridal collection at the curtain-raiser. The collection, called ‘Reflections’ displayed a gorgeous synergy of Indian traditions and colour spectrum for the fusion line. From the breathtaking collections of Payal Singhal inspired by the ‘Char Bagh’ to designs showcasing the exuberance of the art deco movement and the glitz and glamour of Bollywood each show was breathe taking. The contemporary yet modern Ritu Kumar designs saw a lot of colours and ended on fantasy soft white. Priyanka Chopra walked the ramp for Bisou Bisou. The show ended on a high note with Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s magnificent range, inspired by the limited edition Lakmé Absolute Royal collection.
