FACULTY FACES

Deborah Kris Fourth Grade Deborah received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Boston University and holds a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Rutgers University. She served as an associate of Boston University’s Center for the Advancement of Ethics and Character. Deborah brings 10 years of classroom experience and most recently served as fifth grade teacher at the Kent Place School in Summit, N.J. Caroline Corpening Lamsens ’99 Kindergarten Caroline comes to us with seven years of teaching experience. She taught at Westcliff Elementary School in Fort Worth and most recently at the Octavio Paz Charter School in Chicago, Ill., where she taught first grade. Caroline also served as a Master Teacher, co-teaching and assisting teachers with curricular planning, instructional strategies and classroom management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in applied learning and development with a minor in Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. Caroline has begun coursework toward a master’s degree through DePaul University in Chicago, Ill. Jake Linder Upper School Latin Jake holds a Bachelor of Arts in classics from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in classics from the University of Kentucky. Jake taught both Greek and Latin at The Altamont School in Birmingham, Ala. He has participated in educational trips abroad to Italy, Greece, Scandinavia, Spain and Istanbul.

Amy Roe Middle School Spanish Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and is working toward her Master of Arts in applied linguistics. Amy most recently served as a linguistics instructor in Lima, Peru. Previously, she taught Spanish at Seattle Lutheran High School in Seattle, Wash., and Pierz Healy High School in Pierz, Minn. Amy has spent time abroad in Lima, Peru; Mazatlan, Mexico; Merida, Venezuela; and in the Panamanian jungle with a tribe of Kuna Indians. Nikki Triggs Upper School English Nikki holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Science in training and development from Texas A & M University – Commerce, and is working toward a master’s degree in educational administration at the University of North Texas. Nikki comes to us with 14 years experience in the Dallas ISD and has served as a secondary AP English educator since 1996. Nikki holds several certifications along with a College Board Advanced Placement Endorsement. Paula Weatherholt Upper School Math Paula comes to us from Richland and Haltom high schools with 23 years experience in the Birdville ISD, where she has served as a department head and taught subjects such as computer science, math of money, geometry and algebra through AP PreCalculus. She has participated in several AP institutes. Paula holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of North Texas and a Master of Education in school counseling from Dallas Baptist University, along with several certifications.
