Through an AI algorithm, Deep Analysis automates content management, localization, conformance, and QC processes. These processes often take significant time, a shared pain point across the media & entertainment industry. Typically, operators need to watch back a full-length show in order to identify scenes/clips that need to be adjusted for different localizations or compliance requirements. Additionally, if users have just uploaded content to the cloud and are not sure what version it is, they are often required to watch back the entire file to understand what version they have in front of them. Deep Analysis utilizes AI technology to accelerate these traditionally long manual processes. It works by scanning content, automatically identifying different elements, and highlighting them on an easy-to-understand graphical timeline view. This allows the operator to focus their efforts primarily on the scenes/elements that need adjustment rather than wasting time manually locating them. In roughly 10 minutes, Deep Analysis can scan a 54-minute 2K HD ProRes show and identify the scene changes, color bars, blacks, texted scenes, slates, and essences, without the user having to watch it back. That’s a time savings of 80%. Scenes that contain the above elements are identified as markers on a timeline view, allowing users to swiftly identify relevant clips without having to watch the content back in real-time. Once the file has been scanned, users can make any needed adjustments to clips before generating CPLs from the analysis. Operators no longer have to waste thousands of hours watching back their content just to understand what it is. They can scan it once with Deep Analysis and save that data for all future localization, compliance editing, delivery, and archival needs. It’s even possible to automate the human curation component via OWNZONES’ rich API’s, so users can automatically conform their files based on the Deep Analysis findings. Deep Analysis can also detect when subtitles overlap with onscreen text. The push to bring legacy libraries into global streaming services requires language/caption support in 26+ versions. All
major streaming services immediately reject a show if there’s an issue with caption/texted scene overlap. The quality assurance task once only performed by humans is now fully automated with Deep Analysis. It can detect instances of timed text/texted scene overlap with around 40% more accuracy and 80% faster than manual QC methods.
