cience is better shared. Scientists have long ­understood this. They travelled the “known world” to exchange ideas between different fields of knowledge. They wrote papers to make sense of their observations – the data they gathered – and have conducted peer reviews of their findings through academic journals since the 17th century. Standards and transparency strengthened credibility and improved knowledge sharing.
