We offer four basic booth styles which we build to your specifications. Select a style and type of back; choose Vinyl Selections (p.144), Fabric Selections (p.140–143) or customer-supplied material for the seat and back. Booths can be produced with a closed black base or an open base using legs. We offer all the standard shapes and can build custom shapes as well.
Custom Booths Our ability to build custom booths to your specifications greatly expands the possibilities. You can specify virtually any type of booth shape, dimension, tufting style, or material. We can work from CAD drawings, sketches, or your description and dimensions to build a booth that suits your needs.
These photographs illustrate how we did this for the Big View Diner in Charlotte, NC. We worked with their designer and owner to develop these unique booths. These booths were built to custom dimensions, with special materials and used a tile-like tufting style.
The above shapes were created to fit in their entrance, giving their customers a comfortable place to wait as their table is prepared. We built these shapes using a combination of architectural drawings and field measurements to ensure a good fit.

Built to Last FurnitureLabTM booth construction is the best in the industry. Booths take a lot of abuse and we take every precaution to ensure they will perform well. Frame 1" solid poplar frame with glued corner blocks and stapled reinforcements at all stress points. Seats Sinuous type nine-gauge springs on 3.5" centers secured with nonsqueak “E” clips. Springs are covered with Flex-O-Lator® fiber-coated wire stabilizer grid running the length of the seat. Fill consists of cloth layer, poly foam, woven polypropelene fiber batting, and fabric or vinyl surface. Seats are removable. Back Solid wood frame with presswood backing covered with a cloth layer, polyfoam, woven polypropelene fiber batting, and fabric or vinyl surface Base Made of 7/8" thick solid wood with support stringers and glued corner blocks. Base is covered with high durability black vinyl.

FurnitureLabTM Graphics We have an extensive library of design themes and styles that you can use. Simply select the design you like from p.86–117. You can have that design produced in one of our colors (p.147-149), or specify your own color choice.
Color Choices We can match a Pantone® color, a paint chip from companies like Benjamin Moore® or Sherwin Williams®, a laminate color from companies like Wilsonart® or Formica™, or we can match anything you send us.
How Graphic Laminate is Produced

Custom or standard graphics are designed on the computer and prepared for printing.
The laminate design sheet is then printed out on a large-scale inkjet printer using special inks and paper.

A sandwich is made of a clear plastic overlay, the printed design paper, and layers of craft paper intermixed with phenolic resin. Plastic Design Craft Paper

This sandwich is placed in a press and subjected to high temperature and pressure, bonding the materials together to create a laminate sheet.
The individual laminate pieces are cut out of the sheet.

They are then glued to a particleboard core and the appropriate edge is applied, creating a finished table top.

The Back Story FurnitureLab™ got its start when artist Greg Rapp and his architect wife, Bryna, needed a kitchen table. They had just moved into their first apartment in San Francisco and had the idea to build their own. It was made with basic tools and was a bit rickety, but the couple thought, “If we could make this better, I bet we could sell these!” In a short time, they converted their bedroom into a woodshop and Greg worked to hone his carpentry skills while Bryna tweaked the designs. Their range of products quickly grew and they started silk-screening their pieces with colorful Warhol-like images. They called their new business “Home on the Range” and began selling their work to galleries around the country. Their big break came in the early 1990’s, shortly after they relocated to North Carolina. One of their customers opened a restaurant and asked them to make tabletops with pictures of her dogs. It was the couple’s first project of this scale and proved to be the pivotal point in their business. It occurred to them that this was a great commercial application of their process. The next year they took their wares to Chicago for the National Restaurant Association trade show, one of the biggest in the country. They invited Bryna’s brother, Nathan, to help them with sales. The show turned out to be a big success! They had interest from customers of all kinds: restaurant owners, hotels, even Disney executives. They came back to North Carolina knowing that selling unique furniture to restaurants would be their niche. Over the years, they have grown their product line and their business in response to needs expressed by their customers. By early 2000 their focus had shifted from the more whimsical furniture for restaurants and cafes to the Contract Furniture market and other institutional customers like colleges, hospitals, and the military. It was at this time that they changed their name to FurnitureLab™ to better reflect their new identity. Since then, their business has continued to flourish thanks to the hard work of their dedicated staff, their reps, and the trusting relationships they have developed with their dealers and customers.

Warranty FurnitureLab warrants its products against manufacturing defects for 10 years (unless otherwise stated). Warranty does not apply to any product that has been altered or subjected to misuse, negligence, accident, or wear and tear. Fabrics and upholstery materials are not covered by this warranty.

Table bases require assembly, and also need to be attached to the table tops. Instructions and hardware are provided.

Lead Time All of our products are made to order, please call for accurate lead times.
Cancellations / Changes / Returns Any cancellation or change is subject to approval, and may result in charges to the customer. No merchandise may be returned for credit without our previous written agreement. A restocking fee may apply for items accepted for return.
Table tops, bases, chairs, and booths ship from different locations and may arrive at different times. FurnitureLabTM ships orders within standard shipping times and is not responsible for delays in transit. Special requests to expedite or hold shipments will be honored if possible. Additional charges will be paid by the customer. If we are not made aware of installation delays prior to shipping, it will be the customer’s responsibility to accept and store the items. The customer is responsible for unloading the shipment and needs to be prepared. Lift-gate or inside delivery may be available. Please call for details and additional cost.
