R E C Y C L E D P L A S T I C S E AT I N G An environmentally-friendly choice Million tons of plastics from fossil resources are employed in the UK each year, and it is estimated that over 30% is used for shortlived packaging products. These plastics are available as industrial or consumer waste to the secondary raw materials market only a few weeks or months after their production. Raw material is shredded and separated from alien materials such as wood, glass and metal, and then thermally treated and pigmented to create pellets and ultimately moulded into seat components. Key properties and benefits of the material include: • Fully pigmented brown and UV stable • Long-life use - resistant to oils, alkalis, acids and seawater • Resistant to vandalism and maintenance-free • Moisture-repellent, no water absorption, fast-drying • Splinter resistant • Good price-to-performance ratio • An ecological choice - no chemical preservatives, non-polluting and fully recyclable • Relatively low weight, so easily installed without lifting equipment

The Aberdeen and Perth ranges offer a comprehensive choice of seats, benches and tables, which can be used independently or as a coordinated group of products. Both ranges use the same support components but with different seat platform / table top slat sizes. These heavy duty items can be freestanding or in-ground fixed with the aid of a purpose-designed mounting block for a permanent installation.

ARRAN & BERWICK RANGES Robust street & park seats The Arran and Berwick range of seats are manufactured from high quality pre-processed recycled plastic, making them not only environmentally friendly but also extremely durable and weather resistant. There are two versions of each seat, with differing slat configurations. Arran seats can be freestanding or supplied with a mounting block for in-ground installation, whereas Berwick range seats are supplied with an integral root.

Installation

The advantages of the Dundee picnic table over more conventional timber equivalents are that material is knot- and and splinter-free, will not stain from spilled food and drinks and can be easily wiped cleaned. The table is available in 1.8m and 2.0m long standard versions and with a 2.4m long extended table top to accommodate wheelchair users.

All freestanding seats, benches and tables are also suitable for a permanent in-ground installation, with the aid of a dedicated mounting block assembly, supplied in kit-form complete with all fixing, for on-site assembly.

The same basic block is common across the range, with add-on parts as shown below to suit specific product ranges.

The block is manufactured in the same recycled plastic as the products, and is suitable for below ground installation.

R E C Y C L E D P L A S T I C S E AT I N G Seats with recycled slats Seat platform and backest slats are the seat components most often in direct contact with users and therefore the most susceptible to wear and damage. Unlike timber, recycled plastic is not water-absorbent and is resistant to decay, thereby offering a longer term maintenancefree solution. Plastic slats do though have a different appearance to natural timber and are also structurally weaker, so generally need to be used over shorter spans & / or with additional support. Selected seats, benches and tables from our other ranges - from traditional cast-iron based products to contemporary stainless steel designs - are offered with the option of recycled plastics slats instead of timber. Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) - which, as the name suggests, is a combination of natural timber and recycled plastic content - is another alternative to timber and is available on a different seat designs to those shown below - please check our website for details.
