New funeral home opens in Maynooth In his first year in business in 1963, Oliver Reilly carried out one funeral. This sobering experience wasn’t enough to put off the County Kildare man who slowly and steadily built a reputation for reliability and trustworthiness. Today the firm has a sound business in the county and grandson Paul held the official opening in April of their second new funeral home at The Mall, Maynooth to complement the Prosperous, Naas premises. The fabulous new funeral home have been designed with the future in mind, incorporating new technology such as web cams and skype in the plans to provide families with as much choice as possible. “While we have retained a traditional look and feel in many of the public areas, we also knew the importance of future proofing”, said Paul, “We learnt a lot from building the Prosperous Funeral Home in 2005 and wanted to repeat many of the things 4 | FuneralTimes

which work well while improving in other areas”. The new funeral home was purpose built allowing the Reilly’s a free hand to design and build exactly what they wanted and to include plenty of space for parking outside. It was important to create a home suitable for both religious and civil services, final farewells and life celebrations. The home can accommodate gatherings of up to 100 people with ample free
