FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE… of historic tattoo For this forum, I have assembled a handful about 15 years ago. At the photo’s from a collection I acquired more than a bunch of time, I thought that they were nothing performers and the random photo’s of tattooed people, circus photo’s were taken by a like. I later discovered that these rare a mail order catalog man named Bernard Kobel, who offered catalog, there were in the 40’s through the 60’s. In the Kobel subjects, including hundreds of photos of odd and peculiar Enjoy! s & m, bondage, and sideshow freaks.

JANUARY 2010

Happy New Year! Believe it or not, it’s the start of a New Year and a new month. 2010 came in with some freezing cold temperatures! We’re all ready for the soothing warm days to come around again so that we can get out on the open road. We had the opportunity to head to Florida for the holidays this year, with warmer weather and palm trees for Christmas! Key West never felt better; everyone was out and about on their scoots all the way down A1A. It was an amazing sight to see @ this time of year. Very cool indeed those lucky bastards. Well we’ve been sitting around checking out our event calendar for the year, and we’re very excited about what we see! There are so many upcoming events this year! Too many to list but, twice the amount of last year. Watch the next few issues for a heads up on all these killer events. The krew decided to throw: I guess you could say, “A Badass Rock N Roll show” Be sure to come out Saturday February 13th 2010 to the Way Out Club (2525 S. Jefferson St. Louis MO). Full Throttle and Brown Bag Propaganda are bringing you the music of The Hail Mary’s, The Cripplers, and Devlin’s Kids. It’s going to be an event to remember. Just something for you kids for the winter. We will have some cool giveaways that night. Come out and bullshit with Bar Room Bob! We want to say thank you, to our readers, and our advertisers alike, for all of your kind words and wishes for the New Year. Just how do you express in writing, how truly grateful you are to be able to take great pride in what you do? It’s an amazing feeling that words just can’t

seem to express. With that, we say “Thank You”. And hope to see all of you at many of the upcoming events. We would like to give a Huge Shout Out to the man that has helped us from the beginning… Kent Meismenn is his name. He is Full Throttle Midwest’s Photo Editor. Kent is a huge part of making this thing happen!! From the Kleinhans boys (and Brandie) Thanx Kent you Rock brother! Let’s be sure to make 2010 a great ride all year long, and remember the boys over seas our prayers are w/ you

to get checked. Now I know a lot of you right now are saying F%$# that and believe me that was my first response also but after all our feds are looking out for your OH SHIT I mean there best interest ,you see they have been very reasonable with DBA WHICH DON’T ASK ME WHAT THOSE LETTERS MEAN CAUSE I DON’T HAVE A F%$#ING clue in short it means your bike better have baffles and mufflers. Now if you have aftermarket pipes your probably F%$#ED so the next swap meet you go to you may want to purchase some take offs. The dba for a bike at idle is 92 sounds like a lot but human speech is 58 or 59 dba and the loudest your bike can get at 2000 rpms is 96 unless you have more than two cylinders. Sounds to me like the man’s at it again I mean they have to sit and ponder the thought what can we do to F%$# with these bastards now. Shit we can make a killing on them at least 90 percent of their pipes are illegal and at 50 dollars a pop times maybe a million just in our state that’s some serious cash.

January 2010 Happy New Year Hope everyone is doing ok. Just to touch on last year a bit my father in-law finished up his chemo don’t know any results as I write this so hopefully it worked. And I took a little trip up to Wentzville to the ULTIMATE ART FORM TATTOO SHOP and had my brother Matt IN MEMORY OF TATTOO done turned out awesome as you can see. So if you’re looking to get some work done go on up there ask for BO tell him JAWS sent you and he will take real good care of you. Does the phrase “SAE J2825” mean anything to any of you well the first time I heard it said it didn’t mean nothing to me either in fact I had never heard of it till a guy I work with ask me about it. As he explained it to me I was dumbfounded to have never heard of it you see these letters and numbers “SAE J2825” are going to be some of the worst for some and some of the best for others. This is all new to me but it seems back in 1986 the EPA standard for exhaust pipes was set evidently the manufacturer had to comply with EPA standard. That said the aftermarket pipes were created, and my guess was because bikers wanted their bikes louder and to get better performance out of their bikes, but they didn’t have a true measuring device to measure these but guess what you guessed it they have now so get ready its coming down the pipe no pun intended. You see some folks got together from a few different groups and formed “ SAE J2825” and low and behold it’s here that’s right roadside testing with a meter so possibly by the time you get your bike out of winter storage are even try to get a winter ride in you may get the opportunity

river road. From what I understand they pull you over and ticket you for loud pipes, but now that there is a device they will have to purchase one so you won’t be able to argue that it wasn’t your bike that was the loud one.So next to go along with DWI check points will be loud pipe check points can you imagine the law enforcement at bike rallies with this tool. Your f$#@ed hell I’m f$#@ed. I will admit I have road next to some F$#@ING loud ass pipes but who am I to tell you to take them off after all if you get a custom bike from any builder it’s not going to pass all the bike shows you go to or see on TV none of them will pass. So the ten percent as I’ve said before will change the world on biking and the rest of us will comply are pay out the ass to fight what I believe is another move to F$#@ with bikers. Well that’s all REMEMBER KEEP THE SHINEY SIDE UP AND THE RUBBER SIDE DOWN

new rider tip: If you see a bike on the side of

the road stop and see if you can help after all it could be you.

Just like DWI check points what the hell we just keep getting knocked down was 1.0 percent but that wasn’t good enough they dropped it because they weren’t getting enough convictions .Listen I’m not condoning getting all shit faced but two beers an hour. I do agree that it needs to be enforced and I do agree there are times with me as well as others that you see when it should but to stop every car, hell I’m sure a lot of people in fact I guarantee a lot of people would agree as I’ve said before cell phone users are worse texting, eating you know where this is going I don’t want to beat a dead horse but I think that things are working against us twice as fast as they used to. I think our federal government has become like WALL STREET if we can make a dollar let’s do it I also think that as long as we sit on our asses and allow it we are guilty to, you see we elect them based on what can you do for me JAY NIXON said he would pass the helmet law but because 84 percent of the states people opposed it and that was from the POST DISPATCH I will get back to them in a minute he vetoed it they also attacked the judicial system on DWI’S and wham he came down on it. I think whatever the POST DISPATCH wants from him they write about it put pressure on him and get what they want. But what the POST DISPATCH didn’t put on the front page was how they F$#@ED employees out of their health care strange isn’t it. I know I’m getting off track sorry but I’m trying to paint a picture of the way things are headed. Getting back on track it hasn’t happened to me because I‘ve been avoiding the area but GRAFTON ILLONOIS has already started their own enforcement based solely on the keen hearing of people that live close by the

EL MONSTERO Y LOS MASKED AVENGERS MAKES TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO THE PAGEANT IN DECEMBER

Celebrating their 11th year, El Monstero has become a holiday tradition for many local fans. El Monstero is comprised of Mark Thomas Quinn (lead vocals/guitar/lap steel guitar), Jimmy Griffin (lead vocals/guitar), Kevin Gagnepain (bass/ vocals), Bryan Greene (electric and acoustic guitar), John Pessoni (drums/vocals), Bill Reiter (keyboard/vocals), Jake Elking (keyboard), Dave Farver (saxophone), Ermine Cannon, Tandra Williams, and Kelly Wild (vocals). The nearly three hour production focuses on the Gilmore/Waters era of Pink Floyd, featuring songs off of the albums: “Meddle,” “Dark Side of the Moon,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Animals,” and “The Wall.” The band utilizes pyrotechnics, lasers, actors, dancers and aerial artists to create a complete visual and audio experience to compliment the depth of the music of Pink Floyd. The band hires the most premiere sound, lighting, visual, wardrobe and set designers in the St. Louis area. For more information on El Monstero, please visit www.myspace.com/elmonstero. HARLEY DAVIDSON #1 FAN Kristian is a four year old little boy with a smile that lights up any room and warms every heart he touches. He’s a pre-schooler and loves attending school and has seven awards to show for it! He lives with his grandmother, G-MA, who makes sure he doesn’t miss a day of school. Kristian is very proud of his attendance record. The gift that we call Kristian was born at 33 weeks. At birth, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Early on it was evident that there were going to be quite a few challenges throughout his life. He is non-verbal, doesn’t walk, nor is he able to sit up on his own without the aid of his Kid Kart wheelchair. That doesn’t stop him from having a great day everyday! Although caring for Kristian isn’t an easy charge, his G-Ma does it with unmatched energy and lots of love. Kristian greets everyone he meets with

n a i t s i r K

a big smile and his infectious laugh. His smile softens the hardest of hearts. If you’re having a bad day, Kristian’s smile is an automatic pickme-up...just ask Ms. Donna - Grandmother On October 18th, I had the pleasure of meeting Kristian for the first time. His Grandmother brought him in to shop for more Harley items. The moment I looked into his eyes he touched my heart. Even though Kristian is not able to talk with words, his beautiful eyes and loving smile spoke to me clearly. Kristian always gets excited when he wears his Harley clothes. He is truly Doc’s #1 fan. - Donna

OldSCHOOL AIN’T NOTHING NEW C&S CYCLES

If you are wanting a custom built motorcycle

C&S Cycle is the place to go. The good people at C&S have been customizing and building custom motorcycle for more than 34 years. The latest project is an Old School Bobber dubbed the "Black Widow”. The new build is a replacement motorcycle for the "Rat Fink" Panhead that was featured in the January ‘08 issue of Full Throttle Magazine. Although the Rat Fink is a very cool rat bike the owner decided he wanted a later model running gear with more performance and a few late model upgrades. The bike was built using a Kraft Tech 0 stretch 30 degree rake frame, 16" wheels front and rear with Avon MK II retro style tires. The front fork is an OEM original spring fork from the 1930's. The sissy bar and rear fender were fabricated to include the new "Rat Fink" taillight. Another cool effect is the fuel tank complete with gas level sight glass. A really cool metallic blue paint job detailed with air brush work and hand striping complete the look. In addition to building cool custom bikes, C&S is a full service motorcycle shop that can perform any repairs from scheduled maintenance to motor and transmission rebuilding. C&S is a multi-

line parts store that can supply any part from OEM to custom that you are looking for, both at the store and online @ www.cscycle.com. Other services offered by C&S are motor and transmission rebuilding , wiring harness fabrication, custom handlebars and extended cables and wiring, custom fabrication and welding, glass beading, powder coating and chrome plating service, computer tire mounting and balancing and Full Service Shop. C&S always offers tires, mounting and computer spin balancing and factory recommended service at great price. C&S is a one stop shop for your motorcycle. Their factory trained tech's make sure the job is right the first time. The parts people have expert knowledge about your bike and offer tech support for the do-it-yourself customer. Check Out C&S Cycle, Where "Old School ain't Nothing New". C&S Cycle, Inc. 5636 US Highway 61-67 Imperial, MO. 63052 636-464-3535 www.cscycle.com

These Bikes Don’t Suck! This father and sons team has been building choppers for over a combined 50 years. Their philosophy has always been to build ride able bikes, not strictly showpieces. They have always thought that there are plenty of good ideas out there to build trick stuff without putting covers over everything functional or making stuff look weird only for the purpose of being different. They feel with enough creativity you can be different without being gaudy. Mr. Hoover was a professional welder before his retirement and started Conrad down the customizing path at an early age. Conrad has been rebuilding and improving industrial equipment since he was 19. He has always had a passion for doing everything he could for himself. These days the only thing he farms out is chrome. Check out the innovations page on their website (www.hooverscycles.com) and see what they have been up to for the last few decades and remember there is more where that came from. Give them a call.

Full Throttle Book Review ONE PERCENTER

THE LEGEND OF THE OUTLAW BIKERS By Dave Nichols There comes a time in every mans life where he has to decide whether to conform or break out. Ninety-nine percent of us choose to accept the constraints imposed by society. The rest become outlaws. And for this one percent--those who set their own standards, follow their own values, pursue their own esthetic--the outlaw motorcyclist community offers sanctuary. Motorcyclists have always been outlaws to some extent, just by choosing such a dangerous and flamboyant sport. But the one percenters live the outlaw life 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One Percenter: The Legend of The Outlaw Bikers tells the story of this rebellion without a cause--other than freedom and living to the extreme. From the earliest days of the subculture--when World War II veterans began forming early motorcycle clubs--to modern times; this is the real-life account of the wild ones, who one-by-one made their own world. If you’re looking for a good read, or you’re just the lease bit curious as to what exactly a “one-percenter” may be, pick up this book at your local book store, or online.

We are a 4 piece band. Once we were 5 but hassles and shit pushed us to revert to 4 for convenience. SCOTLAND, UNITED KINGDOM We were founded in 1979 and lasted to 1981. We split & changed our name to “Pure Impact”, as the 2 new members were skinheads. We had released our first single in 1980 called “This Is My Country” on 7” vinyl with 3 tracks. These first tracks have surfaced onto our last couple of albums “Violent Youth” & “No Excuses” - which have been a great success for us, The current line up has been together for 6 years and are solid & stable with no plans to fade away quietly as yet. We play every other week and travel as much as possible, although the early days were a fuckin nightmare. We have survived through jail terms & other fuck ups and continue to annoy and rub those who hate us up the wrong fucking way as much as possible... We are working on new tracks for our 8th album, It’s been a laugh and struggle plus we fight like fuck so it’s great fun. When we do go out as a band for drink - no one is safe! Our new single is called “Vagina Destroyer”. This track came about after a fight, The name stuck and we will put it on our next release. CONTACT INFO:WWW. MYSPACE.COM/PRAIRIEDUGZ

FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE… For this forum, I have assembled a handful of historic tattoo photo’s from a collection I acquired about 15 years ago. At the time, I thought that they were nothing more than a bunch of random photo’s of tattooed people, circus performers and the like. I later discovered that these rare photo’s were taken by a man named Bernard Kobel, who offered a mail order catalog in the 40’s through the 60’s. In the Kobel catalog, there were hundreds of photos of odd and peculiar subjects, including s & m, bondage, and sideshow freaks. Enjoy!

CLEVELAND 1000 TORNADO - 1929

Besides its outstanding performance, the Tornado was the most highly evolved American bike of its day, with many avant-garde features. Founded in 1915, the Ohio firm of Cleveland began with a little 270cc two-stroke which enjoyed a remarkable success. The company’s first 606cc four-cylinder model appeared in 1925, replaced in 1926 by the 4/45, an F-head 750cc monobloc four that was one of the first American bikes fitted with a front brake drum (though admittedly, it was pretty useless.) Sports Version The 4/45 was quickly joined by a sport version capable of 75mph. No matter how good it was, the Cleveland 4/45 was incapable of beating off the competition from the 1300cc Ace and Henderson fours, a weakness which was to repeat itself in August 1927 with the launch of the 4/61. This 1000cc, still a monobloc fourcylinders, was of completely original design, unlike all the other American big fours- Ace, Henderson, Excelsior and Indian- which, if they hadn’t actually been designed by W.G. “Bill” Henderson, were the work of one of his pupils. The Tornado Blows In The 4/61 was fast enough, with a tip speed of 90 mph, but its sports derivative, the Tornado of 1929, which had a lowered frame, bigger valves, lighters pistons and a higher compression ratio, was guaranteed by Cleveland to reach 100 mph. It was the fastest of all the American big fours, but it was Cleveland’s last new model, for the mark was wiped out in the Wall Street Crash just as it was getting ready to produce an even faster 1000cc four- the Century. Specifications Engine: Air-cooled 1029cc Valves: F-head (side inlet, overhead exhaust) Fuel System: carburetor Transmission: 3-speed tank change, chain final drive Suspension: leading link (front): rigid (rear) Brakes: drum (front & rear) Wheels: 4.00x19in wire Max Speed: 100mph

Wheelchair Motorcycles for Paraplegic Bikers Arrive

(1888PressRelease) December 27, 2009 Four Mobility Conquest trikes arrived from the UK to the MobilityWorks Commercial facility on Wilbeth Road in Akron to begin the bike’s release into the U.S. marketplace. One of the motorcycles will be transferred to the Consumer showroom at 810 Moe Drive, Akron Ohio shortly. The other three trikes will make their way to other MobilityWorks locations in the coming weeks.

Said Brian Austin, General Manager at the MobilityWorks Akron consumer location, “We’re very excited to have this in our showroom. It’s such a unique solution for people in wheelchairs that we anticipate a lot of interest and traffic coming in as a result of it being here. We already have a special place laid out on our showroom floor for the public to come and view it, along with our wheelchair vans.”

The four Conquest imports are just the start of 45 (forty-five) total wheelchair accessible trikes scheduled for delivery to the United States within the next two to three months. They will be distributed to a network of authorized mobility van dealers throughout the country. Manufacturing of the Conquest will then take place by the MobilityWorks Commercial Manufacturing Division. All Conquests are built around brand new BMW motorcycles. The bike is capable of going 0-60 MPH in 7.6 seconds and a 15-second quarter mile time. They have been proven over several years (in England and Europe) to deliver superior performance, maneuverability and paraplegic wheelchair driving capabilities.

Test drive locations and scheduling haven’t yet been finalized. MobilityWorks in Akron has several options they are assessing. “Obviously weather will affect some of our scheduling, but those details will be worked out soon”, said Austin.

employees, they are one of the largest accessible van providers in the United States. Showroom locations are in CA, OH, PA, NY, MI, IL, and WI. The MobilityWorks Commercial Division, located in a separate manufacturing facility also in Akron, provides ambulettes and paratransit buses to businesses nationwide for transporting one or several individuals needing wheelchair access, including medical facilities, community centers, nursing homes, schools, churches, and hotel chains. MobilityWorks is also listed as an Inc. 5000 company. Additional information about MobilityWorks can be found at www.mobilityworks. com.

FTM Bi-State Area Sales Managers January 2010. Can ya believe it? Id like to take the time here and look back. For Tracy and myself the last 12 months have been filled with many ups and some really steep downs. Tracy’s role as a Full Throttle girl was cut short by a terrible accident. Friends we never knew we had, came forward in support. Steve and the FTM Army not only stood by her, but once she recovered, we were brought onboard to bring Illinois into the Magazine. We hope you are all pleased with our efforts, and thank you so much for your support. We all lost some very special people last year in the motorcycle world. I’d try and mention names here but I would hate to leave a single one out. Tracy and I are better people for knowing them while they were with us, and they will never ever be forgotten in our memories. We watched the motorcycle community support too many causes to list here. Working for this Magazine we have the honor to meet a lot of the organizers for these events. Its heart warming to see people so passionate about helping someone they know, or may not know. There are two events that really stand out in my mind. The Bikers Save Lives Benefit for the Coleman Family, and The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall in Freeburg Illinois. Being at these events changed our lives and outlooks on many levels. Now on to another year, and what will prove to be the best year so far for FTM. Many things are being planned in the war room, and Col. Kleinhans is mapping out our march for 2010. Tracy and I are working on a bike night in Illinois that will be sure to turn heads. When? Where? Well if The Colonel has taught me one thing its patients and the element of surprise. Stay tuned Illinois!! As always, thank you all for your support, and we wish all advertisers a prosperous new year!!

Safety Asylum

BY T.J. MILES

Motorcycle Maintenance = Safety A Motorcycle is a machine that functions well if you provide it with timely servicing and repairs. If you don’t treat your ride right, it will cost you in the end. That’s not a chance you want to take on two wheels. It seems that a lot of people have spent huge dollars on motorcycles in the last couple of years, yet their wallets shrink when it comes time to replace tires and perform maintenance. This situation is a growing one as a large number of newly purchased motorcycles age and endure normal wear and tear. As a "Safety Professional" with over twenty years of motorcycling experience, I see this as a scary phenomenon and absolutely refuse to ride with anyone whose motorcycle appears unsafe. I will not condone suicide by stupidity and do not want to be a victim of it either. One of the ways to check for problems is to complete an inspection. This inspection is a must before you ride, or even when you store your bike during the winter months. You will become aware of any small issue before it multiplies into a safety problem or something big and costly. Use the acronym

54

JANUARY 2010

T.C.L.O.C.S.

to help with your inspection.

T: Tires and Wheels. Tread, air pressure, brakes and threading of tires should be checked for possible cracks, dents or any loose spokes. Don’t forget your bike stands and rides on these important parts. You don’t want to end up with the rubber side “UP”. C: Controls. Ensure that levers, switches, cables, hoses and all other control mechanisms are in immaculate condition before you undertake any journey. L: Lights and Electrical System. Ensure that these are in good condition for safety reasons. O: Oil and Other Filters. Are the levels alright? Are there any leaks? Check thoroughly for any small repairs which might have to be done.

C: Chassis. Make sure that there is no problem with the suspension and that the drive belt or chain is in superior condition. S: Side Stand is in proper condition. This inspection does not take more than 3 to 5 minutes. Yet, if you do this before every ride, it can not only ensure safety but also prevents any big damage to your bike where you might have to spend a lot of money in repairs.

Read the owners’ manual supplied by the motorcycle manufacturer which contains specific instructions for specific parts, oil changes, lubrication procedure, checking tire pressure after a certain mileage and so on. Every manufacturer specifies a separate set of maintenance instructions which must be rigorously followed. Regular maintenance ensures that your bike provides optimum performance and safety for a long period of time which can also save you major bucks in repairs. Winter provides us an excellent break from riding to replace worn parts and tires. The last thing you want is a machine that doesn’t function correctly when you need it the most. “If it’s predictable, it’s preventable!”

LAKE OF THE OZARKS H-D

“Looks like fun!”

My article this month is aimed mainly at ladies who think they would like to ride. The rest of you are going to say, “Oh I already knew all that, that’s common sense!” It might be common sense but, when you are learning everything at once it can be quite overwhelming so, if someone you know is thinking about hitting the road let me rephrase that, riding her own bike you might hand her this copy of FTM & let her read this. I took a ride on the ole’ Shovelhead today & it runs like a new bike since I got my new carb. When I’m out riding with my friends, I don’t think of myself as being any different, just because I’m a female. I’m just one of the group, in fact there are several gals that ride with us. As you travel down the highways, you will notice there are more & more lady bikers on the road all the time. I have had a lot of gal’s mention they would like to ride their own bike but, just aren’t sure they could or are a little afraid. Riding isn’t a male or female choice, or whether you’re large or small. I’m not an expert but, I do know there are several issues to address when starting to ride, regardless what your sex might be. You want to choose a bike that fits you, don’t buy it just because you like the way it looks. After all if you buy a pair of shoes that don’t fit, chances are you’re going to either get some sore feet or fall & break your neck, right? Sit on it & make sure your feet touch the ground flat, not tiptoe, you need good solid footing & no, high heeled boots aren’t the answer. Sometimes you can change the shocks, this helps lower it. Another tip for comfort is to get some risers for the handlebars, this helps bring them back so you can sit up straighter, believe me on a long trip you’ll be thankful. It’s best to start out on a smaller bike & then later go up if you desire. Practice, practice, practice, the more experience the better & the more you’ll enjoy. Always respect your bike, never take anything for granted. On the most beautiful days in the middle of nowhere things will pop up, whether it might be a deer, objects falling out of vehicles, wet pavement, or gravel, the list just goes on & on, so stay alert. My preference for learning is an open field somewhere, then if you do fall over there isn’t any blacktop or gravel under you. Familiarize yourself with all the controls & practice shifting up & down, also practice turning right & left & don’t forget those mirrors, it’s always good to know what is coming up behind you. Oh yeah, most important know how to stop & know where the kill switch is in case of an emergency. It isn’t about whether you’re male or a female, nor large or small it’s more about balance & your ability. If you are one of those women considering the ride, I hope you do decide to join in on the fun. There is nothing more relaxing, than cruising along with the wind in your face enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. Who knows, maybe we’ll meet some day in our travels, until then, whether you choose to ride alone or with someone, ride safe! -

Sue Daniels

AHDRA announces

HAWAYA RACING

PRODUCTS

as 2010 Pro Drag Sponsor Johnny Vickers, long time nitromethane junkie and owner of Hawaya Racing Products, has signed an agreement to sponsor the AHDRA Pro Dragster class for the 2010 AHDRA/Screamin’ Eagle Championship Series racing season. Vickers is well known in the motorcycle drag racing industry for his innovative and top quality products and services. Hawaya Racing manufactures an extensive line of products from starter carts and trick carburetors to complete drag bikes geared toward the nitromethane burning “Fuel” classes in AHDRA and other sanctions. Their proprietary Derringer engine is the result of many years of work and research and is one of their signature products. AHDRA’s Craig Tharpe stated, “We are delighted to have Hawaya Racing on board as the sponsor of our Pro Drag class. The AHDRA Pro Drag class is the carbureted, high gear, nitro class that most people consider our “entry level” class of nitro racing-if there is such a thing! Johnny brings a level of experience to our organization that promises to help us level the playing field in Pro Drag and promote more competition and safety in this exciting class. While Johnny and his team at Hawaya Racing are experts in Top Fuel, Pro Fuel and Pro Drag motorcycle construction and tuning, Johnny is an accomplished Pro Drag rider himself (1993 AHDRA P/D Champion) and has mentored many riders through the learning curve of competition and on to become champions themselves. We are going to work hard to make this partnership beneficial to both of our organizations. I think it’s the perfect match”. “We moved 850 miles from Louisiana to North Carolina for a reason, says Johnny. Our mission is to continue to advance the sport that we love, Harley Drag racing. It’s tough in today’s economy. You can be reactive or you can be proactive. We choose to do the latter. We intend to do this by getting more involved in the nuts and bolts of our sport as well as continuing to develop and provide products to enable our sport to be safer and more economical. With 2010 being our 25th year in the business, I think it is a perfect time to join forces with the AHDRA. We are just getting started!” Hawaya racing will have their support vehicles and expertise at AHDRA events for the 2010 Screamin’ Eagle Championship Series. Their extensive stock of parts and knowledge will prove to be a real asset to riders and teams for the upcoming season. Check them out at www.hawayaracing.com.

VIBRANATOR

BY GARRETT BAHR

The Handlebar Vibration Eliminator There is still hope for the riders who suffer from arm pump and tingling hands due from handlebar vibration. The Vibranator is here to take those problems and eliminate them through their patent pending technology that is similar to a high-end helicopter that eliminates secondary vibrations. Vibranator’s Testimony Tonic vibration reflex is a sustained contraction of a muscle subjected to vibration. Experts agree that vibration causes an involuntary muscle response directly correlated with vibratory pulses. Gratuitous muscle response creates unnecessary arm fatigue and lactic acid build up. There is a direct connection between the handlebar vibration, arm pump, hand numbness and tingling. Greatly reduces handlebar vibration throughout the RPM range, allowing for less fatigue, arm pump and increased comfort. It works by responding to the high frequency energy (buzz) by oscillating out of phase (storing the energy and releasing it back to the bar at the right time), thus canceling the vibration/ buzz. This is different and much more efficient from all other methods that attempt to dampen and absorb the energy. Review After testing the street bike product for 10 minutes the Vibranator had already impressed and made vibrations almost completely non-existent throughout the RPM range. For the cruiser based Vibranator there was not much difference, the vibrations were greatly reduced and the only feeling that made it through the bars was the “rumble” of the Harley. The Vibranator takes 5 minutes to install, is affordable, and does what it is suppose to do. This could be one of the best products to date for someone who can live without vibration and tingling hands. Price: 69.99-129.99 Contact Information Vibranator.com 888-630-7776
