ull Stride will run quarterly debuting alongside the December/January bumper issue of Full Sus and will return alongside the March, June/July and September 2015 issues (or more frequently sooner if backed by popular demand). The beauty of the flexibility offered to Full Sus by our status as an independent publisher is that we can adapt and provide the market the content it desires, as such if Full Stride proves popular with readers and advertisers we could bring the deadline forward and publish Full Stride more regularly.

WHY TRAIL RUNNING? Trail running and mountain biking have an exceptional synergy. Not only do most mountain bikers cross train by running, but many enter trail running events too. It has become a wellestablished formula for events to offer trail running and mountain biking races at the same event, either on a single day or spread over two days to make an enticing weekend’s entertainment and

exercise for outdoors enthusiasts. In addition to the multitude of events offering separate mountain biking and trail running races, the offroad triathlon (Cross Tri), Xterrra and off-road duathlon scenes are growing rapidly, and Full Stride will be quipped to cover these events in more detail than we currently can in Full Sus. Trail running is also an accessible entry point into mountain biking. For many people, especially those who haven’t ridden a bicycle since leaving school, mountain biking can be daunting. The fear of falling and injuries is very real. As are the significant costs to get into the sport. Trail running however is far less intimidating, all you need is a pair of running shoes and you can feel your way in with a few 5km trail runs on gravel roads before you make the big commitment to specialized trail gear, expensive shoes and avid training for your first 20km race. Even then the costs are still dramatically less, but the thrill of the adventure is there and here at Full

Sus we firmly believes that if given the opportunity, 90% of trail runners will cross over into mountain biking too.

WHAT WILL FULL STRIDE OFFER? Trail runners and multi-sport athletes need the type of gear, training, event dates and race reports that we offer to our mountain biking specific readers and we feel that Full Stride can offer that platform too. Full Stride will include a cover feature in each issue delving into a trail running topic in the same manner as we have in Full Sus. In addition to the cover feature Full Stride will include a Kleinhans Muesli style regular column by professional trail runner, AJ Calitz; news and gear sections looking at the latest trail running news and equipment; an event calendar – which we will endeavour to ensure is as comprehensive as possible – and trail running race reports, penned by a runner – just as our ride reports in Full Sus are penned by riders. Along with the traditional advertising options, Full Stride will also offer smaller trail running events or associated businesses the opportunity to advertise in a dedicated Trail Running Directory section.

WHY WITH FULL SUS? In its initial issues, Full Stride will appear within Full Sus, to ensure that would be readers pick up a copy. Full Stride will be printed in the same size and format as Full Sus and the copies distributed in trail running specific outlets will be repackaged to feature Full Sus inside Full Stride. The collaboration between Full Sus and Full Stride allows Full Stride to debut with 15 000 copies in 222 nationwide outlets, reaching up to 45 000 outdoor enthusiasts.

The fact that Full Stride is in Full Sus also allows readers to pull it out and pass it on. If for example an avid mountain biker is reading the December/January issue of Full Sus and notices Full Stride he can pass it on to his trail runner wife without having to give up his precious copy of Full Sus until he’s read it cover to cover.

ADVERTISING Full Stride will offer similar competitive advertising rates, like you’ve come to expect from Full Sus. And to secure an advertisement in Full Stride we’d like to encourage you to contact Jessica Nosworthy. You can do so by emailing her at jess@integratedmedia.co.za or by phoning 021 685 0285. As Full Stride will initially make use of Full Sus’s 15 000 copy print run and distribute from the 222 location strong network of Full Sus outlets – including all Sportsmans Warehouse stores. But as with Full Sus, Full Stride will continue to grow dynamically and we are already in discussions to place both Full Sus and Full Stride in selected stores with a strong trail running focus. The impressive numbers that make Full Sus the biggest mountain biking specific publication in South Africa will therefore also make Full Stride the biggest trail running specific publication in the country too. And our first ABC audit will be completed in January 2015 so look out for the confirmation of our impressive distribution numbers in February. Remember advertising space is very limited so don’t hesitate to book your advertising placement for the inaugural issue of Full Stride, in the December/January issue today. Contact Jessica now.
