What are your thoughts on the Baker/Polito Administration easing COVID-19 restrictions? By Donald Halsing, Associate Editor

“I think it seems a little rash for them to ease them, especially when numbers are so high. Having restaurants go to 100% capacity seems a little rushed. But at the same time, you have to look into it and see that there are still six-feet-apart guidelines for restaurants to run at full capacity.” -Maggie Gillis, senior

“I’m like 50/50. That’s really hopeful and optimistic, but not everyone’s gotten the Pfizer shot or the COVID vaccine. So it just makes me a little nervous - could there be another outbreak? We’re hearing about all these new strains and all this stuff. I don’t know what’s going to happen. The idea of it sounds good, but I would much rather wait until everybody’s gotten the vaccine or something and then just see what happens.”

“I feel like it might be a little bit too soon, but with the vaccine, there’s a high chance it might be fine. But we can’t really rely on that quite yet. I think a good portion of the country probably doesn’t want to get the vaccine, but we’ll see how it goes.” -Diandra Ajemian, junior

“It’s a little too early still. I probably give it another two months - give the administration some time to actually vaccinate people. Until we hit that 100-million mark, I don’t think it’s a good idea for anything to be opened up.” -Dahir Hersi, senior

-Connie Bodemer, senior

“As long as the cases are going down - less and less people are getting it, and less and less people are dying - I think it’s OK. But, if it starts going up again, I think it has to get a lot more strict.” -Barry Nangle, freshman

“I feel like people aren’t really taking it as seriously. With the whole COVID thing going on, people don’t even wear masks when they go to different places. I think that once we all really take this seriously, maybe we can get over this. But I don’t think this is the time.” -Nana Afedzie, junior
