WIDE RECEIVERS
A 2004 graduate of Fayetteville State, Wayman Westbrooks is in his second year as Fayetteville State University’s Wide Receivers coach. Since graduating from FSU, Westbrooks has coached wide receivers at Maryvale High School in Phoenix, AZ at Phoenix College and at West Phoenix High School.
At Maryvale HS, Westbrooks also coached defensive backs and punters and helped Maryvale to two conference championships and two appearances in the Arizona state playoffs. During his two years at Phoenix College, Westbrooks helped six wide receivers earn scholarships at four-year colleges, one of which is currently playing professionally for the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League. As a player, Westbrooks starred at Wide Receiver and Punter at FSU from 2001-03. He was a team-captain on the 2002 and 2003 Broncos team that won back-to-back CIAA Championships.
In 2001, Westbrooks was All-CIAA honorable mention and in 2002 set an FSU single-season record, which would later be broken by Daryl Barnett, with 10 touchdown catches.
He is married to Angela Westbrooks and they three children Hassan, 13, Mireya, 2, and Jalen, 1.
