Hair Care for him

PASTE

Between taping and stapling your hair into position (neither of which we suggest), lies the world of pastes, which are similar to pomades but usually are a little less shiny and more textured. FELLOW BARBER TEXTURE PASTE $22

GEL

It gives a hardened, wet look that you are free to attempt, but unless you like people calling you Max Headroom, we do not suggest. L.A. LOOKS SLICKING GEL $2.99

MOUSSE

A word without which no dinner menu can be sufficiently pretentious, but once upon a time, it was a thing men put in their hair to give it volume. Now it’s mostly fallen out of favor. REDKEN PROTECTIVE VOLUMIZE MOUSSE $19

CLAY

A tackier version of a pomade that tends to have a heavier hold. Obvious but necessary warning: Using this product will NOT make it safe to put your head inside of a kiln. BAXTER CLAY POMADE $20

CREAM

No, not made by a cow - we asked. Hair cream is an almost zero hold conditioning lotion that gives thicker hair types that perfect, “I haven’t taken a shower in two days“ look. Minus the stink. Creams also de-frizz and de-fluff curly, frizzy, coarse hair and, if used sparingly, are good option for guys with fine and thinning hair who don’t want the weight or stress of a pomade. 186

FELLOW BARBER STYLING CREAM $22
