Govt orders action against use of chemical drums for supplying milk, butter RAWALPINDI: Orders have been issued for launching campaign against the use of blue chemical drums for milk supply to the milk shops and dairies in Rawalpindi city. Government has issued directives to Consumer Protection Council (CPC) to launch drive against the butter making factories and milk supplier engaged in supplying milk through blue chemical drums as the complaints are pouring in that the milk being supplied through these drums has become source of spreading fatal diseases like cancer, hepatitis and lever. CPC sources said the issue has been raised at high level that cancer and stomach and lever related fatal diseases are likely to be erupted due to use of blue chemical drums in carrying and supplying milk to the dairies and milk sellers in Rawalpindi because these drums are used for supplying chemicals like potassium chloride, caustic sodium sulphide and ferric chloride which are highly lethal for life. —Online

Dar briefs politicians on judicial commission ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday made several telephone calls to politicians from all parties to brief each regarding the formation of judicial commission to probe alleged rigging in the General Elections 2013. According to media reports the people who were briefed included, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj-ulHaq, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khursheed Shah, Rehman Malik, Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani, Aitzaz Ahsan, National Party (NP) leader Mir Hasil Bizenjo, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Farooq Sattar, and FATA representative G.G. Jamal. All party representatives have congratulated Dar and the government for the formation of judicial commission. Both PML-N and PTI have reached an agreement over the judicial commission. —Online

Complaint cell set up in ministry of works ISLAMABAD: Complaint cell has been set up in housing ministry to address the complaints of the people pertaining to this ministry and its subsidiaries. Complaint cell has been established under the directives of minister for housing and works Akram Khan Durrani under a section officer. Federal housing minister will directly monitor the performance of this cell. Ministry has appealed to the people to put into the box of complaint cell their complaints if they have any against ministry of works or its subordinate departments including State office, PWD, PHA, Federal government employees housing foundation. Hashmi calls for peace in Karachi JAHANIAN: Veteran politician

Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said country cannot run without peace in Karachi and what steps have been taken therein are correct and this process should continue. All are in favour of the steps being taken here. All the steps are being taken in Karachi in consultation with MQM. This process should not stop and its scope rather should be broadened. BY SALEEM BUKHARI ISLAMABAD: Ayan Ali, one of top Pakistani models, accused in money laundering case, was trying to smuggle money to be used in Uzair Baloch case. A source in Pakistan People Party disclosed this to The Frontier Post. "Ex Interior Minister Rehman Malik's brother Khalid Malik is the main character in this, and Malik used Ayan Ali several times for this purpose. But unluckily she got caught last time,” sources added. “Millions of dollars have been transferred to Dubai for this cause till now, Khalid Malik is trying to pressurise Ali. He immediately reached Adyala jail when Ayan was shifted there." Earlier while talking to Frontier Post at Adyala Jail, Ayan Ali seemed agitated every time she heard Malik’s name. She didn’t blame anyone but said that she’ll expose all the matters soon.

BANNU: The repatriation of Internally

Displaced Persons (IDPs) from South Waziristan Agency continued on Saturday for sixth consecutive day. At least 5,516 people of as many as 788 families have repatriated to their areas under the supervision of the army. The repatriation process would continue till April 4. The Federal Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) in collaboration with Pak Army has made comprehensive arrangements for return of TDPs. The government is paying each family thirty five thousand rupees including twenty five thousand from ATM and Ten thousand from mobile Sims for their routine expenditures and transport besides provision of six month ration by the political administration. —Online

preparing a new agreement for exchanging criminals with England, after being disapproved by several countries. Interior Ministry sources told the Frontier Post, "The main cause of new treaty with British government is to provide cover to Muhsin and Kashif, who are accused for Imran Farooq murder case. Interior Minister Chuhdry Nisar Ali Khan discussed this matter with British high commissioner Flep Briton 4 days ago in a meeting. The purpose of new agreement could be the current situation of law and order and security forces operations in Karachi, sources added.

‘Corrupt’ IESCO director reinstated SHEHZAD YOUSAFZAI RAWALPINDI: In a clear violation of rules and regulations and an order by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) reinstated its dismissed director, who was found involved in a corruption scandal. The former director for transport at IESCO, Ali Zulqarnain Kiyani, had allegedly misappropriated Rs 70 million funds. Last year, the IESCO workers filed a petition at the IHC, requesting investigation into Zulqarnain Kiyani’s alleged corruption. On April 16, 2014, the court ordered the IESCO authorities to act against the director, following which the authorities set up a two-member committee to probe the corruption charges. After investigation, the committee presented its report to the managing director (MD) of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO).

Third round of anti-polio campaign ends in KP BY OUR STAFF REPORTER PESHAWAR: The third round of polio vaccination under “Sihat Ka Ittehad” programme concluded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday. The round lasted for three days and about 5.1 million children under the age of five were vaccinated across the province. The vaccinated children are more than 96% per cent of the total target set for the round. Special catch up activities are going on to achieve the remaining target. According to a report of Polio Emergency Operation Centre of Health Department,199,623 children were vaccinated in district Abbottabad, 174,697 in Bannu, 85,267 in Batgram, 192,085 in Buner, 262,182 in Charsadda, 16,379 in Chitral, 295,948 in D.I. Khan, 279,439 in Dir lower,

192,168 in Dir upper, 115,259 in Hangu, 185,620 in Harripur, 127,442 in Karak, 184,756 in Kohat , 47,630 in Kohistan, 165,493 in Lakki Marwat, 124,972 in Malakand, 166,420 in Masehra, 370,892 in Mardan, 258,085 in Nowshehra, 714,283 in Peshawar, 159,220 in Shangla, 247,144 in Swabi, 430,499 in Swat and 79,539 were vaccinated in Tank. Indian troops kill two Kashmiri youth in IHK

In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism have martyred two Kashmiri youth during a siege and search operation in Samba district.
