Limestone Community Education offers a variety of English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to suit your needs. In the mornings, we offer a skills-integrated program from 9:00 am to 11:30 am Monday to Friday in which all skills are taught and practiced, including: listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and pronunciation. These classes are available at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. As well, Limestone has a workplace program that gives learners the language skills and soft skills needed to find and retain work in Kingston. Soft skills refers to culturally expected behaviours, communication styles and interpersonal skills. Newcomers to Canada who have knowledge of workplace expectations - for interviews, meetings, emails and interactions with colleagues for example - will find it easier to transition into the Canadian work environment. Successful students who complete the in-class component of workplace ESL will be able to fulfill a work placement with a local employer. The workplace program runs from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Monday to Friday.
