12. Select the words Fusce posuere and apply a yellow highlight to them by clicking the Text Highlight Color button . If you prefer, you can change the highlight color by clicking the button’s down-arrow and selecting the color of your choosing. Like the bold, italics, and underline buttons, the highlight button is a toggle button, applying or removing the highlight format. You can change the highlight color by clicking the arrow and selecting from one of the displayed colors. Lastly, you are not required to select text before applying a highlight. If you do not have any text selected, when you click the highlight button, the cursor changes to a highlight cursor. You can then use the cursor like a physical highlighter—just select text in your document to apply a highlight.
■ Tip If you want to apply highlights to non-sequential text, you can double-click the Text Highlight Color button. A double-click will cause the tool to stay in highlighting mode until you decide you are finished highlighting. You can then move throughout your document, making as many highlights as you like without clicking the highlight button over and over again. When finished, either click the Text Highlight Color button again, or press the ESC key on your keyboard.
13. Select the word pulvinar and click the Font Color button to change the font to red. The Font Color button also has a down-arrow that displays additional colors for your selection (see Figure 3–5). When you select a color, the Font Color button will update to display the active color. For example, if you select blue, the underline below the A of the Font Color button will change to display blue.
■ Tip The Font Color button lists the colors according to color sets or themes (see the following). These groupings simplify the task of choosing colors that play well together. In addition, if you want to use a color not included in the Theme Colors or Standard Colors sections, you can click the More Colors button to open a color mixer that allows you to “build your own.” Also, there is a set of pre-set gradient colors available via the Gradient menu option. You can click the Gradient option to view the available gradient colors. And if the pre-sets are not quite to your liking, you can customize them via the More Gradients option.
