VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Kaye Roberts
How long have you been volunteering with Friends, and how did you get involved?

A friend invited me to help with the Halloween events years ago at Bridlespur. I realized how much I missed being involved and joined as a volunteer in 2016. Currently I am on the Trivia Committee and I help with the lunch deliveries for the Munchie Meal Program at Mercy.
What does volunteering mean to you?
I love the opportunity to help with the kids any way I can. Going through a cancer diagnosis is overwhelming as an adult. I can only imagine what it would be like for a child. If I can help raise money, drop off lunch or work an event to make things a little better for the kids, I’m all in. My only regret is not having more hours in the day to dedicate more time to the kids!

What is your favorite Friends activity or event?
It’s hard to pick just one. Of course I love the Trivia Nights! Being on the committee is a lot of fun and I’ve met wonderful volunteers along the way. I see how dedicated everyone is at the Friends of Kids office to make the events possible and I love being a part of that any way I can. Their energy and enthusiasm is incredible!
