THE WEEK THAT WAS  The new govt. effects transfer of 71 IAS officers, 20 IPS officers and 7 HPS officers. Brijendra Singh, son of Minister Birender Singh, is the new Chief Administrator, HUDA, Haryana. Ashok Khemka (of Vadra fame) is made Transport Commissioner and Secretary, Transport, Haryana. The new CM says that FIRs can henceforth be filed anywhere in the State – there would be no ‘jurisdiction’ for FIRs. Further, Sports stadiums in Haryana will henceforth only be used for sports events (definitely not for marriage parties). CM also wants the Affordable Housing policy to be amended, to ensure that a 2 BHK flat is available for Rs 10 lakhs (versus current 1 BHK at Rs 12 lakhs, 2 BHK at Rs 20 lakhs). The new State Cabinet is examining 115 decisions of the previous govt., and may reverse some decisions and appointments. The retirement age has been moved back to 58 (versus 60, which was approved just before the polls).  The Punjab & Haryana High Court (HC) does not accept the report of the City Administration on the construction activity and status in the IAF Depot area, and summons top City officials. HC orders the removal of hoardings along the e way; MCG reportedly would lose an income of RS 60 lakhs per month. HC asks Gurgaon Administration why it feels that hospitals and nursing homes should not be in residential areas; MCG had prepared a list of 71 such ‘unauthorised’ facilities.  Information Management and Analysis Centre (IMAC), for use by the Navy and Coast Guard, is inaugurated by the Defence Minister; the facility is located within the IAF Depot premises in Gurgaon.

 A truck runs over and kills a driver on the e way; the driver was repairing a puncture on his vehicle.  A 75-year-old man, apparently suffering from depression, jumps off the 14th floor

of a building in DLF V.  A youth commits suicide, in Jharsa.  There is a jam on the e way on Saturday, after a spate of 3 accidents, in which 4 people are killed (including a 7-year-old girl).  6 people are found dead in multiple rail accidents on the Gurgaon-Rewari track, on Monday.  A 5-year-old is raped by a 14-year-old in Gandhinagar Colony.  A spurned lover who raped his live-in girlfriend (an IT executive) and took a video recording, in a hotel, is caught.  A doctor is accused of having raped a girl working in a Sector 56 hospital over a period of time; a doctor molests an elderly woman, in the Civil Hospital.  A person from Bangalore is booked for harassing a woman on Twitter.  3 missing Gurgaon kids are found in Modinagar railway station.  A private hospital, Aryan Hospital, is vandalised after a person dies due to alleged medical negligence (after a surgery).  An ASI (Police) is suspended for not acting on the complaint of a person who was the victim of a brawl.  An NRI alleges that his house in Palam Vihar has been fraudulently sold with the help of forged documents.  A person sets up a fake bank account, gets a credit card, and accumulates charges of Rs 16 lakhs, before he is caught.  A driver is tied up and his truck is looted, near Jharsa.  A liquor vend is looted at gunpoint.  2 people are arrested for selling clothes stolen from an export company.  Cyber Crimes have more than tripled, over last year, and are expected to cross 1,000 this year.

Private city buses are booked by the Haryana Roadways authorities, for charging excess fares.  About 2,000 City CNG autos may get an NCR Permit, for operating on the Delhi-Gurgaon-Delhi route; nonmetered autos will be paid as per (Delhi) prepaid auto fares. 4 locations in the City have been identified for ‘malba’ disposal, which is estimated to be 300T per day. MDI promises to adopt 100 govt. schools in rural Gurgaon, to provide them training in sanitation management. Gurgaon would soon get the 24 hours Child Helpline, run by Childline.

New City Administration Pradeep Kasni is the new Divisional Commissioner. TL Satyaprakash is the new District Commissioner. Navdeep Singh Virk is the new Commissioner of Police. Anita Yadav is the new HUDA Administrator. The new MCG Commissioner is awaited. All govt. subsidies and benefits will be linked to Aadhaar cards (UID) soon; residents have been advised to get their Cards made within 6 months.
