PET TREAT BAG INSTRUCTIONS
A. CREATE PATTERN PIECE 1. Draw a rectangle 14.5" x 8" 2. Remove squares from the long edges 2" x 2" 3. Mark 1" long belt carrier placement lines 3" down and 3" in from top corners 4. Mark a second set of belt carrier placement lines 1.5" down from first set 5. Mark velcro placement line 1.5" down from center of top B. CUT FABRIC AND INTERFACING 1. Cut one pattern piece from main fabric 2. Cut one pattern piece from lining fabric 3. Cut one pattern piece from interfacing (mid-weight woven recommended) 4. Transfer placement lines to fabric 5. Cut 2.5" x 3.5" strip from contrast 6. Cut 2.5" x (length of waist+ 11") 7. Cut (length of waist+ 10") of 1" belting/webbing 8. Cut 1" strip of no sew velcro C. PREP 1. Apply interfacing to wrong side of fabric 2. Apply iron-on vinyl or liquid vinyl to lining for waterproof interior D. SEWING BAG 1. Fold fabric in half, right sides together matching 8" sizes 2. Sew along side seams 3. To make left side box corner, fold fabric so that left side seam is lined up with center fold line. Sewalong raw edges 4. Repeat step 3 for right side E. SEWING BELT CARRIERS 1. Fold carrier fabric in half right sides together matching 2.5" sides 2. Sew at 1/4" seam allowances 3. Turn right side out 4. Press seam centered along back 5. Cut in half 6. Sew one end along seamline on top placement line 7. Fold down and press 8. Fold other end along seam line and edgestitch to bag along bottom placement line F. SEWING LINING 1. Repeat steps d1-d4 for lining 2. Attach velcro pieces 3. Place lining into fabric right sides together. Sew along top edge leaving a 3" opening for turning. 4. turn bag through opening. G. SEWING BELT 1. Fold belt fabric in half right sides together matching long sides 2. Sew at 1/4" seam allowances 3. Turn right side out 4. Press seam centered along back 5. Feed belting through tube 6. Fold ends to inside of tube wrong sides together and edgestitch H. FINISHING 1. Feed belt through carriers 2. Tie around waist 3. Fill with treats and hit the streets
