Butterfly Fields Cutting

Use the following diagrams to cut pieces from each fabric if cutting from a Butterfly Fields fabric kit or yardage. Individual block pieces and sizes are also shown on each butterfly instruction page.

Fabric strips are shown as a cut width and 42" of length (fabric is unfolded).

wof = width of fabric

"X" indicates extra unused portion. (Save unused portions of fabric just in case :-)

When using a different fabric than Field Cloth collection swatches shown, we suggest cutting a swatch and attaching over the fabric shown for your reference.

The letters (i.e., A, B, C, D, F) following the size refers to the shape cut in each individual block.

The abbreviation (pw) refers to pieces used in the butterfly patchwork blocks.

Tip: Cut pieces from the bottom of the strip first and work up as shown by arrows.

Tip: Cut width of fabric (wof) units in order from widest to narrowest.

*Cutting Note: Keeping the (wof) strip folded in half and cutting in sets of 2 when possible will speed up the cutting process.

Tip: Use pins, clips, labels, and/or baggies to keep everything organized.
