Junior Group Golf Lessons

Junior Group Golf Lessons include the basics and fundamentals of the golf swing. Location: Park Hills Golf Course

Intro to Chess

Learn the fundamentals of chess while improving concentration and strategic thinking. Students will also learn how to make faster decisions, evaluate alternatives, and explore multiple ways to win through guided instruction as well as having opportunities to play other opponents. All ages welcome.

Location: Krape Park Koenig Shelter

Private Golf Lessons

All golf lessons are taught by PGA Professional Jeff Hartman. Call the Pro Shop at 815-235-3611 to set up a lesson time. Location: Park Hills Golf Course

Youth - ½ hour lesson - $20

- ½ hour lesson (x4) - $60

Adult - ½ hour lesson - $30

- ½ hour lesson (x4) - $100

Read & Play at the Park

Head to Krape Park for stories, messy crafts, and outdoor play. Join the Freeport Public Library and the Freeport Park District for a fun-filled hour. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle! Please note each date requires a separate registration. Location: Krape Park, Flagstaff Playground Shelter

Sports Sampler

This exciting instructional class will introduce your child to different sports. A different sport will be explored every class including soccer, t-ball, tennis, football, volleyball, and golf. Please ask for a schedule with class locations when registering. Location: Multiple Facilities

Youth Tennis Lessons

This class provides a solid foundation to build skills and understand stance. Instruction includes hand-eye-coordination, racket skills, and stroke production with emphasis on ground strokes, serves, returns, and volleys. Court position, scoring, and singles and doubles are introduced. Location: Read Park Tennis Courts

Play at the Park for Toddlers

Toddlers will enjoy making crafts, listening to stories and exploring the outdoors. Join us at Krape Park for an adventurous play day. Dress for mess and wear tennis shoes. Location: Krape Park, Flagstaff Playground Shelter

Drop In Chess

Play this popular strategy game while getting helpful pointers from an expert, all for free. Chess improves concentration, problem solving, and strategic thinking — plus it’s fun! All ages welcome. Location: Krape Park Koenig Shelter

T-Ball

T-ball is one of the Freeport Park District’s most popular instructional program. The 4-week program will focus on basic fundamentals. Participants will learn hitting, fielding, throwing, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Location: Read Park Ball Fields
