note: Typed note and letter accompanying early photograph of the sideboard (see above) reads: “Sideboard belonged to Staats Morris (brother of Lewis Morris, a signer of the Declaration of Independence) and his wife, widow of Richard Brooks Robers and original member of the Order of the Cincinnati. Staats Morris was my g. grandmothers’ step-father. She was a Roberts. At the death of Staats and his wife, the sideboard was inherited by one of their daughters. May have been Blendina.
