Last One Turn Out The Lights: Marines Quietly Begin Leaving

hen Marine Maj. Gen. John Kelly deployed to Iraq in February, the violence had fallen so low in Anbar province that he began ﬁguring out how to start closing bases and prepare to go home. In the last 10 months the Marines in Fallujah have done what was unthinkable before the surge began — they have quietly transferred out of one of Anbar province’s largest cities. FOX News has learned in an exclusive interview with Kelly from Fallujah that 80 percent of the move is complete. In February there were 8,000 Marines living at Fallujah base. On Wednesday, to little fanfare, the Marines quietly closed down Al Qaim base near the Syrian border. Now it is run by Iraqis. In Fallujah, where the U.S. Marines once had three large mess halls to feed troops, they are now down to one. The Marines have quietly disassembled the entire infrastructure of the base.

They will hand the Fallujah base over to their Iraqi counterparts on Nov. 14, having relocated themselves and thousands of combat vehicles to the desert base of Al Asad to the west. Marines will no longer be seen in city centers such as Fallujah — a major step

We must understand here that when the Bible mentions “the world”, it is referring to a foreign system of thought, behavior and consequences. It is a way of living in the earth today. S& In Romans 12:2 the Bible commands us not to be conformed to this worldly system, to this fashion or this age, but rather to be transformed. God is literally saying there is another system of thought, behavior and blessings that you can operated in, and it comes by renewing your mind to His Word.

I John 5:4 tells us that faith is the victory that overcomes the sickness and disease that is trying to kill you. That is trying to imprison you. That is trying to take away the liberty and freedom that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for you to experience.

All of these fruits, if you will, are the result of worldly ways of thinking, acting, and believing.

We don’t deny that there are things like viruses and deadly forces at work in the earth today. But what I John 5:4 declares, is that faith is our answer to overcoming these things. Faith is the victory that not only overcomes the way the worlds system operates, but it will also overcomes the fruit that the worlds system produces. Rev. John G. Lake was a man who ministered in a place where a deadly plague was killing thousands of people. He lived in the midst of it, and was ministering the healing power of God. Many had died, yet many people who should have died, lived. Now the scientiﬁc community of the day was confused as to why Rev John G. Lake wasn’t dying from the plague. So a group of them went and studied Rev. Lake. The scientists placed a portion of the plagued ﬁlled foam from a dead mans mouth on Rev. Lake’s hand. Then put them both under a microscope to see what would happen. What they saw was amazing. When the virus touched Lakes body the virus died, instead of infecting the area it touched. What was empowering Rev. Lake. What was the key that enabled him to overcome that disease? That’s right; it was FAITH!

JESUS SAVES

In Hebrews Chapter 11 we begin reading how to live by faith. During the ﬁrst few verses we read where our elders actually obtained good reports by faith. In fact the very ﬁrst thing that was obtained by faith was the universe that you and I are living in right now. God is a God of faith. He looked into nothing and said “LIGHT BE”, and LIGHT WAS. He knows how to operate in faith. Now God is trying to help you and I operate in that same faith as well. In Ephesians 5:1 we read: “And be ye followers of God as dear children”. . . . The word “follower” here means “to imitate, or to copy.”

God knows how this thing works. He is the one who created this system of faith. In fact there is nothing good in this earth that will manifest without faith. Everything that is good in this earth will come to you and I, by operating in and through Gods system of faith. So faith is the thing that obtains good reports. SICKNESS IS NOT A GOOD REPORT FOR YOUR BODY.

Although McCain pointedly told Senator Obama “I’m not President Bush,” Obama returned to his strategy of linking the Arizona senator to the current president. “If I’ve occasionally mistaken your policies for George Bush’s policies, it’s because on the core economic issues that matter to the American people -- on tax policy, on energy policy, on spending priorities, you have been a vigorous supporter of President Bush.” For the ﬁrst time in a presidential debate, McCain assailed Obama for his ardent support of abortion, including his opposition to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. McCain noted Obama not only voted against legislation providing medical care for victims of botched abortions, but also has a record of supporting a gruesome abortion procedure banned by Congress in 2003. “Then there was another bill before the Senate Judiciary Committee in the state of Illinois not that long ago, where he voted against a ban on partial-birth abortion...really one of the bad procedures, a terrible [one]. Then on the ﬂoor of the Illinois State Senate, he voted ‘present.’ I don’t know how you vote ‘present’ on something like that. I don’t know how you vote ‘present’ on some of that,” the Arizona senator stated. “I don’t know how you align yourself with the extreme aspect of the pro-abortion movement in America.”

Born Alive Baby Killed at Abortion Clinic, Gets Proper Funeral

Florida baby who was born and died in an abortion clinic will ﬁnally be buried today in Ft. Lauderdale.

Cheryl Sullinger of Operation Rescue explains the African-American baby named Shanice Denise Osbourne was born alive two years ago at an abortion clinic. Christian Newswire reports that Shanice’s mother went to the clinic after experiencing some discomfort, and the clinic staff decided to deliver the baby. When Shanice was born, her mother noticed her gasping for air for nearly ﬁve minutes while the clinic staff panicked. Abortionist Belkis Gonzales then put the baby in a biohazard bag and put her on the clinic’s roof “to conceal her body from police.” Allegedly, there was no attempt to save Shanice’s life. “That baby was swept into a biohazard bag with some caustic chemicals and tossed up on the roof of that abortion clinic to die,” Sullinger explains. “It was done in a panic, I think, by clinic workers because the people who delivered this baby alive during an abortion were not medical doctors; they were

unlicensed women who just happened to be working at the clinic at the time.” Doctors performed an autopsy that Shanice’s lungs “contained gas bubbles and floated,” which proved she was alive and breathing at birth. Meanwhile, an investigation may soon bear fruit. “We have every confidence there will be criminal charges in this case by the end of next month,” Sullinger contends. She rejoices that the clinic has been closed. It was owned by Gonzales, a woman with no medical background. Sullinger says Dr. Alan Keyes will give the eulogy at Shanice’s funeral. Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, is thankful Shanice will “finally be laid to rest with the dignity and love she was denied in her short life” and hopes her killers will be brought to justice. He adds that the public is encouraged to attend the funeral in hopes that the African-American community will stop the “exploitation and decimation of their community by predatory abortionists.”

A Harvest of Righteousness

James 3:18 “And the fruit of Righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”

The Ampliﬁed version of this passage of scripture reads: “Now the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God’s will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace … ‘ What is the harvest of righteousness? I t is true freedom! It is conforming to God’s will in thought and in deed. The will of God is the very Righteousness of God. So then righteousness in a person is the harvest, the fruit, the result of a seed that was sown in peace. Every seed sown always produces a harvest. Where there is a seed sown, there is a harvest on its way. If you want to, #1 Know God’s will, & then #2 experience Gods will in your life, it must start with a particular seed sown.

The Rev. Benjamin Moore reported: [I]mmediately after he was brought from [the field] . . . a mes¬sage was sent informing me of the sad event, accompanied by a request from General Hamilton that I would come to him for the purpose of administering the Holy Communion. I went. . . . I proceeded to converse with him on the subject of his receiving the Communion; and told him that with respect to the qualifications of those who wished to become partakers of that holy ordinance, my inquires could not be made in lan¬guage more expressive than that which was used by our [own] Church. – [I asked], “Do you sincerely repent of your sins past? Have you a lively faith in God’s mercy through Christ, with a thankful remembrance of the death of Christ? And are you disposed to live in love and charity with all men?” He lifted up his hands and said, “With the utmost sincerity of heart I can answer those questions in the affirmative – I have no ill will against Col. Burr. I met him with a fixed resolution to do him no harm – I forgive all that happened.” . . . The Communion was then administered, which he received with great devotion, and his heart afterwards appeared to be perfectly at rest. I saw him again this morning, when, with his last faltering words, he expressed a strong confidence

in the mercy of God through the intercession of the Redeemer. I remained with him until 2 o’clock this afternoon, when death closed the awful scene – he expired without a struggle, and almost without a groan. By reﬂecting on this melancholy event, let the humble believer be encouraged ever to hold fast that precious faith which is the only source of true consolation in the last extremity of nature. [And l]et the inﬁdel be persuaded to abandon his opposition to that Gospel which the strong, inquisitive, and comprehensive mind of a Hamilton embraced.

One other consequence of Hamilton’s untimely death was that it permanently halted the forma¬tion of a religious society Hamilton had proposed. Hamilton suggested that it be named the Christian Constitutional Society, and listed two goals for its formation: first, the support of the Christian religion; and second, the support of the Constitution of the United States. This or¬ganization was to have numerous clubs throughout each state which would meet regularly and work to elect to office those who reflected the goals of the Christian Constitutional Society. Obama’s Muslim Ties Called Into Question By Katharine Mieszkowski

he head of a terrorism watchdog group says Barack Obama’s new Muslim outreach director should have never taken part in a meeting last month in Northern Virginia that was attended by two Muslim leaders who support terrorist groups. NBC News reports that Obama’s Muslim outreach director Minha Husaini spoke to a small group of Muslim leaders and potential Obama supporters at a hotel in Springﬁeld, Virginia, on September 15. One of the Muslim leaders attending the meeting was Mahdi Bray of the Muslim American Society. Bray once equated the Israeli assassination of a Hamas leader as “an unlawful, cowardly, and dangerous act of state-sponsored terrorism.” Joe Kaufman, chairman of the group Americans Against Hate, notes Bray and other leaders of the group are supporters of the terror-

ist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. “The organization has just recently used the Internet to call for the murder of Jews and the waging of war against non-Muslims,” he contends. “It’s certainly not an organization that anyone from a political campaign should be attending a meeting with.” Another Muslim leader who attended the September meeting was Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on AmericanIslamic Relations (CAIR), which was listed by the government as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism ﬁnancing case. The Obama campaign claims its Muslim outreach director would not have attended the event had it known beforehand who all the attendees were. However, a participant at the meeting contends the Obama camp was aware that top CAIR ofﬁcials would be in attendance.

‘Joe the Plumber’ Upstages Candidates

he man known as ‘Joe the Plumber’ is getting just as much, or more, attention than the presidential candidates since Wednesday night’s debate. Joe Wurzelbacher, a Christian, grabbed the spotlight when Sen. John McCain cited him as an example of someone who can expect to suffer under Sen. Barack Obama’s economic policy. Wurzelbacher, 34, said he was underwhelmed with Obama’s position on taxes. He recently confronted the Illinois senator over his plan to “spread the wealth around” by taxing higher income earners. He contends that Obama’s plan would hurt him if he chose to buy the plumbing business he has been saving up for. “One, I’m not wealthy,” he said. “This is something that I’m going to have to make payments on in order to purchase.” “And for him to think that he has

a say in how I spend my money, it’s my discretion that I give to the church, that I give to charities, that I give to friends or family members. It’s not the government’s place,” he said. He continued, “To step in and say ‘you’re making a little too much, I want to make it fair’ - life’s not fair.” The Ohio plumber has since been ﬂooded with requests for interviews for the media about his remarks. Wurzelbacher has also weighed in with a Christian perspective on the Iraq war. “Everything that Americans take for granted, I mean these guys haven’t had it - now they’ve got it. That’s an incredible thing. I don’t know if you guys are Christians or not, but that’s like someone coming to Jesus and being saved. These guys have freedom,” he said. Although he is outspoken on the issues, Wurzelbacher will not say who he will vote for.

Have you ever been in a race or relay game at school? Do you remember what it was like at the starting line? With seconds away from the word “go,” do you think it would be a good idea to be looking around you wondering about what you are going to eat for dinner? Or what if you were worried about how you looked, and decided you wanted to comb your hair. No, I don’t think that would be a good idea to do such things - not if you wanted to win the race, that is. At the starting line, it is best to keep your attention on the race and the ﬁnish line. Baseball is like this. Have you ever seen a baseball game before? Have you noticed how the pitcher keeps his eyes and all of his attention on the batter who is up? The person batting is his aim, or target. He shuts out all the cheers from the fans. He doesn’t think about what he is going to eat for dinner. The only thing he sees and thinks about is his target, the batter. What’s your target? What do you spend your time thinking about and looking forward to doing? Is it just to play with your friends all day? Or is your aim to watch a favorite TV show? These things aren’t wrong

to do, but they shouldn’t be all that you want to do. Why not make it your target to spend time with Jesus? Our Bible verse today commands us that we should keep our eyes on Jesus. How do you think that you can do that? Well, let me tell you a story about a group of God’s people in the Old Testament that were being disobedient. God was bringing them to a better land, but along the journey the people grumbled and complained. They were not being thankful. Because of their disobedience, snakes came into their camp. They were scared. They got bitten by the snakes. They then cried to their leader Moses, to help them. God told Moses to make a big brass snake, and put it high on a pole for all the people to see. Those that were obedient and looked at the brass snake would not die. God would help them and forgive them. That’s the same for us today. As we keep our eyes on Jesus, He will help us, and keep us safe. Continue to read your Bible. Continue to pray. By doing so, you are making Jesus your target.

The ABC’s of Abundance by Kenneth Copleand

ight now many of us are facing needs. Big needs. Needs so great that without the direct intervention of God, they can’t possibly be met. Because of that, we need to be more certain than ever before that we understand - and abide by God’s laws of abundance. Those laws are extremely important, but, praise God, they’re not complicated. In fact, they’re as simple as ABC. A: Decide to Plant In Mark 4, Jesus compared the workings of the kingdom of God to planting seeds in the earth. “When the seed is sown,” He said, “it grows up and becomes greater” (v. 32). Notice, He didn’t say that when the seed is sown it occasionally grows up and becomes greater. Or it grows up and becomes greater if it’s God’s will. He said, “It grows up and becomes greater.” Period. God’s economy isn’t like ours. It isn’t up one day and down the other. It’s always the same and it always works perfectly. If you have good earth, good seed, and good water, you will have growth. It’s inevitable. The laws of God will produce that increase every single time. So, if you’re facing a need, don’t panic - plant a seed! That seed may take the form of time, money, or some other resource you have to give. But no matter what form it takes, you need to understand that the gift itself isn’t really your seed. There’s no life in it. It’s just the husk. There are people who’ve planted husks for years. But, because they didn’t put any life in them, nothing ever came up. So don’t just plunk a husk in the offering bucket when it goes by. Put life in it first. Praise and worship God over it. Say, “Lord, I’m offering You my goods to do Your work with, and as I bring You my goods, I bring myself. I give myself to You, spirit, soul and body.” Pray over that seed. Fill it with faith, worship, and the Word. Then it will be ready to plant. B: Find Good Ground Out in West Texas on my grandfather’s farm, there were big, white patches of caliche. It’s the most worthless dirt in the world when it comes to planting seed. It won’t grow anything. I don’t care how fine your seed is, if you plant it in caliche, you won’t get a crop.

There are some ministries that, spiritually, are just like caliche. They aren’t good ground for your seed. So before you give, pray about where that gift should go. Don’t rely on your own judgments. Don’t reason it out and say, “Well, this preacher over here is screaming and crying and saying he’s going under, so I guess I’ll give to him.” You go to the Lord of the tithe and find out where He wants you to put your money. He’s the only one who can direct you to truly good ground every time. C: Water It! Once your good seed is in good ground, keep watering it with the Word of God. Speak faith over it all week long. Call forth the growth of that seed by “calling things that be not as though they were” (Rom. 4:17). It may just be a little seed, but you need to start calling it grown. You may say, “Well, brother, I believe in telling things like they are.” You won’t ever see any growth in your life then because spiritual things grow as words are released. That’s God’s way. Charles Capps says the one who “tells things like they are” is like the guy who went out on the porch to give his dog a bone. When he got out there, he found the dog wasn’t there - just the cat. So he started saying, “Here, kitty, kitty, kitty.” His neighbor said, “I thought you wanted to give that bone to the dog.” “I did,” answered his friend, “but I like to say it like it is - and the cat, not the dog, is the one that’s here.” Don’t be like that guy. Call the dog. He’ll come. Water your seed with words of faith. Don’t call poverty if you don’t want poverty. Call yourself prosperous. Call that need met. Before long, you’ll be so full of joy and so full of expectancy that even the watering will be fun! Plant the seed. Find good soil. Water it. Then as Mark 4:27 says, all you have to do is “sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed will spring and grow up.” “But I don’t understand how that works!” you say. It doesn’t matter. Just do it. Plant and water. Sleep and rise. Sure enough, one of these mornings you’ll wake up to an abundant harvest!
