PROFILE I am a designer with a strong passion for working with colours and spaces. I have an architectural background and am keen to advance further with my skills within all areas of design, but my main interests lie in interior design and space planning. I have worked in a range of architecture practices of varying scales, and on a wide variety of different projects. I have proven myself able in both creative and technical aspects of design, and aspire to develop my skills and ideas with hard work and determination.

FORMATION ARCHITECTS (London, UK) 2018 - 2019 Part II architectural assistant in charge of feasibility studies for large residential schemes across London, as well as working together with the planning team to develop planning applications for London residential block schemes.

AMBIGRAM ARCHITECTS (London, UK) 2017 - 2018 Part II architectural assistant/product design. Working on pre-app schemes for hotel developments in Camden. As well as designing and prototyping bespoke lamps, to be developed and sold as part of the interior design projects.

RESIDENTIAL - MATERIAL STUDY

MELD ARCHITECTURE

New extension and internal refurbishment of a residential apartment over a commercial unit in Kensington. The proposal changed the entire layout, including relocating the stair to help maximise the space of the relatively small 1 bed apartment. In addition to architectural works we developed the finishes and materials to be used in the design. All the storage was designed as bespoke joinery and finished in bright colours internally that is revealed when opened.

REDESIGN - SPACE PLANNING

MELD ARCHITECTURE Full internal refurbishment of a flat in Edinburgh to change from single 2-bed apartment into two separate 1-bed apartments.

The proposal opened up the spaces to the previously unused loft and a new mezzanine level was formed to increase maximum floor area of the new design.

The project included lots of interior design features such as decorative metal work forming the stair and mezzanine balustrade.

An alternating tread staircase was proposed to take up as little space as possible and designed to be able to be used as storage, creating a feature stair in the space.

PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL

MS DESIGN Construction package drawings forming part of a private residential development in Spain.

The design was part of a luxury villa with high end specification throughout. These are examples of construction details part of the tender package, including setting out drawings, sanitaryware schedule and finishes.

DOCK

THE MANSER PRACTICE 191 unit residential development in London Docks for an experienced developer. The project was in detailed design stage and split into numerous different construction packages.

Works undertaken included reflected ceiling plans and electrical setting out plans. Which involved setting out of lights, smoke detectors and other electrical items, such as light switches, sockets, entry phones etc.

I also worked on the kitchen package. Producing detailed kitchen plans and elevations, as well as appliance and sanitaryware schedules.

LAMP DESIGN & PROTOTYPE

AMBIGRAM ARCHITECTS Responsible for research, development and design of a flatpack, low cost lamp to be fabricated for the residential and commerical projects. Works undertaken included, designing and 3D modelling in Rhino, as well as liaising with manufacturers for prototyping and possible future collaboration for bulk production.

PECKHAM HOTEL

FORMATION ARCHITECTS The proposed design is an extension to an existing hotel in Peckham for London Hotel Group. Comprised of a 5-storey basement including hotel accommodation and ancillary services. The existing basement level layout does not make effective use of the space, the proposal therefore seeks to make significant improvements to the function and quality of the below- ground accommodation.

75% of the rooms within the proposed extension are provided with natural light through the use of light shafts and windows to rooms.

Those rooms which are not provided with access to natural light are provided with backlit LED panels which give the impression of a window and are a source of light.

INTERIOR DESIGN

PRIVATE PROJECT Interior design study for a town house in the South of Spain, currently undergoing a complete internal renovation and refurbishment.

The project is tailored towards the holiday market, and the property is to be rented out for short stay terms for tourists and holiday-makers visiting the area. The concept for the interiors is split into two main themes. Firstly, the seaside theme for the Ground floor emphasising the mediterranean surroundings, highlighted through cool tones and timber cladding. The first floor was inspired by the distant Moroccan warmth and colours, with bright accents and an earthy colour palette.
