Site, Pompeii

The SPA Pompeii hovers over the ruins of the historic SPA in the center of Vesuvius 79 AD. destroyed city. The new spa will be invigorating and a place of recreation. While the ruins are normally visited by tourists, the SPA Pompeii should make a contribution to alternative use. Too often ruins of historic buildings and cities and neighborhoods appear as foreign objects or much more than dead body parts. The idea of ‚remembrance‘ somehow puts a latch to the old city, which can only be opened for a fee. These very latches separate the bustling life from outside of a dead historic city core. Living in such a space of tension between old buildings at eye level and a contemporary architecture above it offers a completely new approach to historical buildings, and the ruins come a little closer to their original meaning.

The pools and spa rooms are located on / in a level. It connects various stations

The task was to design an exhibition pavilion for the TU

Braunschweig. The main function of it should be to present

the TU Braunschweig appropriately outward. The site is to be

understood as a border area between Forum Square and Oker

River. Our goal in the design is to transform the outskirts through

our design into a connector. The entrance of the pavilion is

oriented towards the forum square, is an attractor and guides

the people in the direction of the pavilion. What is presented

to the visitor is a concrete body, which, however, has different

surface textures. The pavilion doesn‘t open to the outside. Only

precise openings are generated, these are on the one hand at

the entrance and on the other side of the Oker located in the

area of the café.

At the end of the path, once the visitor has crossed the building

and returned to the ground floor via a second ramp, he finds

himself in the café, which, with a wonderful view of the Oker,

invites visitors to linger and gives the visitor the opportunity to

appreciate the impressions of the building to process.

Through continuous urbanization, humans are increasingly displacing ecological areas and green oases in their own habitat. While the city of Brunswick has at least one ‚green belt‘ or ‚green ring‘ around its inner city, it is liberated within any green. An already heated by the daily business and rapid area without a rest or even dwell zone. It is obvious / obvious / obvious that the quality of life suffers here.

04

While valuable green space continues to be displaced in cities, between 1991 and 1994 American scientists and investors sought to create a self-sustaining, self-sufficient ecosystem in

Biodiversity: tropical-like, atmospheric circulation Type: Evergreen primeval forest, no thermal seasons

which survival would be possible over a longer period of time. The name of the project was ‚Biosphere 2‘ derived from ‚Biosphere 1‘, which is known as Planet Earth. The knowledge of the possibility of colonizing the moon or Mars was motivation enough for the scientists. So the ecosystem had to be ‚exported‘. I would like to give back to these gray and barren areas their green space and create for the population in addition the possibility of a dwelling and rest area. The further the processes of urbanization and urbanization progress, the less green space we will be able to experience in our cities. On the one hand because remaining green space has to give way to building masses, on the other hand because

urbanization brings with it climatic changes that make the growth and growth of plants impossible. The vial is said to prevent these external changes from acting on the biosphere. It is not about preserving a tree, but about exhibiting the natural growth and decay of the ecological cycle of the biosphere. This should be a graph and memorial for future generations - 59 -

The buildings of the brewery frame interspaces / squares with different atmospheres. Thus, visual and spatial relationships between the individual cubes and across the area are generated. The theater is integrated with the same logic in the terrain.

Entwerfen Eins

In the first year of study, five multiweek supervised exercises are worked on.

Under

Composition,

the

headings

Genius

Manifest,

Loci,

Sequence and Light Spaces, these focus on sub-aspects of design. These are finally brought together in a small building design. In this way, students are introduced to the complex field of design from various angles. Through the editing and presentation of the exercises, the first drawing and model building techniques will be learned.

Zeichnen Eins

As a tutor, I have developed a great interest in teaching. In basic science, it is important for me to teach students communication through architectural means. Reading and recapturing architectural drawings is very important to me. So I have repeatedly sought the conversation with other tutors and also the academic staff to find ways to optimize the courses in favor of teaching. One of my tasks in my previous activity as a tutor at the IEX was the preparation and execution of tutorials in the subject of drawing one as well as the execution of tutorials in design one. Since joining IEX as a tutor, I have been intensively involved in the preparation of the Drawing One tutorials. Creating the student work materials needed for the tutorial was part of it. „Drawing

year of architect education at the TU Braunschweig. In the form of weekly lectures and exercises, the students are familiar with the basic skills of freehand drawing, sketching and the performing geometry in addition to the theoretical and historical foundations of drawing in architecture. Techniques of building and architectural analysis are practiced, by means of which a building can be broken

elements (grid, axes, walls, columns, openings, spatial

development, hierarchies,

etc.) and analytic using the practiced techniques of drawing and presentation , interpretive drawings can be generated. By repeating and producing analogously in different ways of representation and standards, the students train their twoand three-dimensional imagination. - 109 -
