The Marching Hundred
Contributed For the past several years, the Russellville High School Marching Hundred has taken crowds on a rock ‘n’ roll musical experience during their halftime performances, but Band Director Gary McNutt said they planned to change things up this year. During this year’s season, the Marching Hundred’s show will be a tribute to the victims and first-responders of September 11 on the 10-year anniversary of the tragedy. The show tunes will include New-York themed songs like the popular “New York, New York,” as sung by Liza Minelli; “On Broadway;” music from “On the Town;” and the hit song from popular R&B singer Alicia Keys called “Empire State of Mind.” McNutt said they also have a patriotic tribute planned involving some of the local firemen and policemen.
