FPCN Green Team presentation
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10 AT 6 p.m.

The FPCN Green Team is pleased to announce an exciting speaker committed to the stewardship and conservation of our planet Earth, Dr. Terri Jump. Dr. Jump serves as a volunteer boat captain and naturalist at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida where she invites guests to “fall in love” with the mangroves, manatees, turtles, Great Blue Herons, and the beauty of the Gordon River. She is passionate about saving the Everglades which is disappearing. Terri will take us from our own Everglades to the White Continent, Antarctica, where she spent 3 weeks as part of the largest expedition—99 women in science from 33 countries—sponsored by Homeward Bound. You will see Terri’s amazing videos and photos of whales, penguins, seals, fish, birds, icebergs, sea and research stations. No country owns Antarctica; it has no human population. Sixty years ago it was designated a continent of “science and peace.” Sadly, just like the Everglades, Antarctica is struggling with warmer temperatures, rising seas, loss of wildlife habitats, overfishing, potential extinction of species, plastic contamination, etc. Terri will not only impart details of her life changing experience, but will challenge us to do all we can in our homes, our communities, and through our church to make a difference. “The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it; for he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers.” Psalm 24:1-2.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Terri’s
presentation will occur via Zoom. RSVP to Ashley Hancock, ashley.hancock@fpcnaples.org for the Zoom link.
