Stacy is paying her own way through Fox Valley Technical College’s Law Enforcement Academy. “Many law enforcement agencies can sponsor recruits to go through the academy,” Stacy explains. “The Portage County Sheriff’s Office, where I work, cannot sponsor recruits. But my goal is to become a deputy, so I am here on my own. And that’s why I am so grateful
