3D Video World
Pink Party in Paris
Learn the fundamentals involved in creating a 3D video game world! Participants will develop their own game design and learn to place animals, trees, characters and other items in their own virtual world. They will also learn the basic subsystems and scripting entailed in a 3D game system. Two students will work in a team, and each participant will receive a copy of the 3D software and his or her game at the end of class. This class is taught by Computer Explorers Staff. (KB)
Join Glitzy Girlz on a trip to Paris! We will be doing hair updos with feathers, make-up application and nails – all with the fab color PINK. Our craft is an adorable glam bag with personalization, paints, jewels and embellishments and a hot pink fur border. Each girl makes a beautiful beaded bracelet with faceted diamond crystals, pink and black beads and an antique charm. We will eat a sweet pastry treat like in a Paris bakery and top the evening off with a couture fashion show. Parents may arrive 10 minutes before the end of class to take photos. (KB)

Making Your Own Indiana Jones Movie All those wanting to be the next Steven Spielberg can use their imagination and creativity to create an Indiana Jones movie! Children will become part of a team of writers, photographers, directors and producers to create their own story and script, build various Indiana Jones Lego scenes and film their own movie. They will use graphic editing techniques and stop motion animation, add background noise and music, and show their movie at a private screening on the last day of class. All students will get a copy of their movie on a CD-ROM after class is complete. Students may bring their own peanut-free snack if desired. This class is taught by Computer Explorers staff. (KB) Age

Little Miss Manners and Modeling This program on social etiquette helps young ladies develop their social skills and self-confidence. Girls will learn how to write a classy thank you note, how to make introductions and how to practice polite telephone manners. Table and restaurant manners will be practiced, along with posture, sitting in a ladylike manner and giving themselves a manicure. A group dinner will take place at the Olive Garden. Sign Language Crash Course
Babysitting for Success
Jump into the world of sign language with a class geared toward beginners of all ages. This course teaches American Sign Language, one of the fastest-growing languages. The instructor focuses on how to fingerspell the alphabet and numbers as well as signs for everyday situations such as meeting and greeting. The free preview class requires registration by Jan. 30. Pre-teens and teens can participate in small-group interaction, hands-on stations, large-group discussions and mini-lectures. Child development, basic child care, handling emergencies, nutrition and safety are covered in a handbook specifically designed for this course. Students should bring a doll, pencil or pen and any questions they have about babysitting. Taught by Grow with Me Staff. (JN)
