Our dearest mother,
What a joy to be loved, cared for, and raised by you. Your timeless words of wisdom have been our guide and your overwhelming love has been our anchor throughout the years. We have watched how passionately you (still) answer the call of God to His people, all while being true to yourself as a wife, a mother, a sister, and a friend. Today we celebrate who you are - and especially who you are to us: our beloved mother and friend. Growing up, nothing was too trivial for your attention; you taught us how to cook, how to prepare for our future selves, and ultimately how to live with all sense of purpose in Christ. Now, in our older years, we still relish every opportunity to gist with you, ask for counsel, and discuss politics. Even in our older years, you still pray for us and pray with us. You still gift us with ‘cute’ things you see at the store when you go shopping. You still hold us and reassure us in faith, that “everything will be fine”. And with your youngest at 30 years old, there is no saying truer than the one that says “a mother’s job is never really done”. We love you tenderly and pray for you especially.
