In pleading your case, you must know that you have an advocate with the Father. Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant and He pleads for you. In this powerful series, Rev. Funke dives into biblical precedents about pleading our case with God. As believers we must also know how to plead our case against the enemy. We will also learn how to plead our case by the blood and by God’s mercy

Having An Understanding Of The Times

When you have an understanding of the times, you are in charge. You will be above any and every situation. It’s not enough to know the Word, we must understand it. Whatever we understand, the devil cannot steal from us. In this prophetic message, Rev. Funke shares a 3-part study: the role of understanding; know the times we are in; and what we ought to do. More than ever before, we need to have an understanding of Satan’s strategies, and insight into what God is doing.

ENTERING YOUR SEASON OF ALL-ROUND REST

God is going to make our joy full and complete. He doesn’t take from us, He is the giver of every good thing. 2 Chronicles 20:29-30 (NIV) says, “...And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side”. So, how can we participate with God to experience this in our lives? Being fully confident that God has promised us rest allows us to play our part; to walk in peace, and in assurance in God! This message contains keys to entering into your season of allround rest.

Q. For decades, you have touched so many people all over the world; whether you are at home or on the pulpit, your life continues to bless others. What’s the secret to being a blessing to anyone you meet or relate with?

A. It’s very easy; just be who you are on and off the pulpit! I have only one life that I live before God and people. I’m not trying to impress anyone; what you see is what you get. I don’t believe it’s only when I’m behind the pulpit that I’m ministering; but Ministry is my entire life. I’ve heard people mention what they learnt when they were in my home; and some have talked about what they learnt from my relationship with my kids. Someone even observed how I pay attention and take notes, when my husband is preaching. And in all of these cases, I wasn’t conscious I was teaching anyone anything; I was just being me!

I also believe Ministry is a huge responsibility; someone said, the power to lead is also the power to mislead and to destroy. People have come to believe in me- in my leadership and judgement; therefore my words and actions can make or mar their lives and destinies. So, I owe them the duty of care, to ensure that I am following Christ, as they follow me (1 Cor. 11:1). I believe some day, I will give to God, the account of how I stewarded this trust.

Q. Can you share with us some of your greatest joys from being in full-time ministry for 35 years?

A. Seeing lives that have been touched and changed, is one of my greatest joys in full-time Ministry. I still have people in my life, who I’ve known for about 3 decades; I remember where they were then, and where they are now. Jesus said to His disciples, “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” (Jn. 15:15). It’s a joy to see those ones now operating in their own gifts and calling; being a blessing in turn, to many others.

Whatever you give comes back to you- even in greater measure; like I said in my latest book, ‘Diamond Drops’, people are your greatest assets, so invest in them. One of my joys is when some of them now minister back to me, in words of encouragement and prayers. Relationships are also like currencies; and you can’t be stranded wherever you find yourself on the face of this earth!

Q. What can we look forward to from you in the next 5 to 10 years?

A. More books written! Engaging in other areas of Ministry, in addition to pastoral ministry. One of my desires is to have a special school (details to be revealed later); as part of the legacy I’d love to bequeath to generations coming behind: “Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.” (Psa. 71:17-18 NIV). And to get more involved with philanthropic endeavours.

Q. What or how would you best characterize this new season of your life?

A. It’s definitely a new day and a new season in my life! The next 30 years of my life shall be characterised by wisdomDivine wisdom: “Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you. She will place a lovely wreath on your head; she will present you with a beautiful crown.” My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.” (Pro. 4:5-10 NLT)
