an, a famous photographer, well known amongst the Australian cosplay community, was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. Photographing cosplay means he concentrates on gaming, movie, and comic characters. Photography is just a hobby for Ian, for which he bought his first Nikon DSLR in 2008. Whilst he has not deviated from the brand he has had many cameras since.

"I don't aim for collaboration with known and famous faces; instead I am always happy to be approached by imaginative people and I just love capturing their awesome poses." - Ian 15

Batman and Wonder woman - By Phoenixrail and artist from Melbourne City 16

Inspiration in photography plays a foremost role in revamping and fetching out the best in photography. Ian is inspired by the photography of Lizzy Barrow, who works with Ian for cosplay photography. She is quite resolute for bringing out the matchless photographs from the natural source of lights. Ian says each of his triumph photographs is a merger of endeavor from both, the model and as well from Ian. The main part which turns his photographs into the best is communication between the model and him. They both works on defining the poses, lighting, and positions for the particular

cosplay character. For most his cosplay photography, Ian chooses the outdoor sites to give the crude touch, which fabricates the actual notion For a photographer, the best thing is meeting amazing folks, getting entitlement to work with them and knowing their talent and eagerness of becoming the 'Face in Frame'.

"I am a Nikon shooter but I think that people get too focused on the latest camera technology rather than the basic skills of shooting well. You don't have to have the best equipment to shoot well, a lot of the photograph is an end result of basic things such as lighting, posing, composition, and timing. I think most about trying to get good lighting so less post-processing is needed."- Ian Out of many appreciations on cosplay photography, one of Ian’s photograph got published in the book '20 Years of Tomb Raider: Digging up the Past, Defining the Future' 17

"I don't think that a photographer ever reaches their pinnacle, there is always something new to learn. Always keep learning from other photographers. I enjoy the photography I do because I'm a self confessed geek and I've found my passion, I think that's been the key, just following my passion." - Ian

inay, son of priest Vijay Dutt Purohit hails from a regarded traditional Brahmin family from a small town of Jodhpur,

Rajasthan. His childhood passed away with the sounds of divine chants and shlokas. Living with such in the holy milieu, Vinay just never thought of moving to photography. But with the ongoing changes in his interest, he started liking the world of photography. He started experiencing the magic of photography during his LAW exams and took a long while to take a firm

step of his career for moving into the photography. From many of the themes, Vinay love to do Street Photography, Black Light Photography, Travel, and Food. Vinay has influenced himself from the photography of Vong Wong and Lee Jeffries Communication is a golden rule to clutch the shot which a photographer wants to seize. Its very important to relish the photoshoot while capturing the different moods, because, for the perfect shot, the photographer may have to capture different variations with various angles.

"I would like to collaborate with Vong Wong. His truly insane photography has changed my vision." - Vinay

23

24

Vinay defines the preferred location of the photoshoots depending upon the type of photoshoot to be done. He says the studio photo shoot is also preferable for any kind of fashion photoshoots where the magic of light is under control. But outdoor shoot has there own effects. These shots not only grab the beautiful background but also brings the natural light effects during any kind of photoshoots.

Vinay has kept no boundaries to his photoshoots, whenever and wherever he feels it right, he does it. And that is what the best thing he says about being the photographer is. Vinay is hard-worker and always wanted his work to be appreciated by the viewers. There is nothing more important in the world, but getting applauded for the dedication and work which a photographer tries to showcase at the end of the day.

Currently, he is working on Architecture Documentary in Rajasthan and later he would be continuing his black light photography with some new tries and types. He concluded, "Just Do what you Love, And Do it every day. And be dedicated to whatever you are doing. You will get your place not sooner but for sure."

Malcolm Gamble AUSTRALIA WINNER - SHOOT THE LAND

26

Malcolm believes the pursuit of landscape photography allows a slower, more contemplative pace, and this reflective approach can bring a deeper level of connection to our surroundings. Taking the time to immerse ourselves in a location allows the photographer to feel and respond to the landscape, and hopefully convey something of that emotional interaction.

M

alcolm Gamble is an Irish-born Australian who lives in Melbourne. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast

and environmentalist with a passion for wilderness and remote locations. Although Malcolm was raised in Australia, his work seeks to trace cultural identity and geographical roots.

Glencoe Sunshower is an image that expresses the emotion and drama of a fleeting moment in the Scottish Highlands. The image explores the notion of the transience of light. Raw, powerful and bleak; yet the majesty and sheer beauty of this landscape give the viewer an indication as to why it has captured the hearts and souls of so many artists and poets throughout history. This is not a pretty landscape in the usual postcard since - it is rugged and uncompromising, and symbolizes the hardship of the lives of the inhabitants who have graced these mountains over countless generations. Malcolm’s landscape work often centres around the theme of grand scale and nature’s capacity to express its own narrative.

PORTRAITS FROM THE STREETS

STORIES IN FRAME

Saurabh Chauhan @saurabhclicks India 30

31

S

aurabh Chauhan, a street and portrait photographer, was pursuing CA until he decided to move his feet for photography.

Not by his own, but with the help of his family members, he could able to make a decision and come up with the idea of capturing the wonderful world. Out of many themes, he loves to shoot wildlife, street, and fashion and with every shoot, he keeps on exploring the new magic of photography. A lot of famed photographers has influenced this world and for Saurabh, Sir Raghu Rai, Vicky Roy, and Shaaz Jung are the inspiration.

32

I would love to capture wildlife along with Shaaz Jung. He has an amazing flair of seizing magical moments in the wild. - Saurabh

33

Communication is a fundamental part of a photo shoot. Saurabh believes that it helps in bringing out the emotions of the model so that the pictures reflect the story that any photographer wants to showcase through the captured photographs. In his practice, hilarity is the foremost icebreaker and comforter. It illuminates the environment at the shoot and assists in raising a cadence required to get what a photographer is set out to achieve. 34

I often choose outdoor locations because it gives me an inordinate pliability to experiment during the shoot by giving me more varied space and a wider scope to execute on the spot generated ideas. - Saurabh

35

36

Being a photographer gives a potential to understand and capture multiple perspectives of life. A photographer carries a skill to showcase a story in a single frame. If someone is fervent about photography then all needed is a camera to lash with the world and tune into its frequency while capturing it in all its diversity. During his visit to Pushkar Fair last year, Saurabh captured a shot of a camel with the Ferris Wheel as background giving it a vibrant hue. This wonderful photograph leads to the essence of Pushkar Faircamels and colors. Saurabh believes that a photographer should consistently focus on the tale in the frame. One can improve the photography ability with practice, getting better and improved outcomes, however, it is the story in the frame which completes it and gives it an identity of its own.

hotography is not the real story for every photographer at least not for Yogesh, who was into his family business and for which his life was so involved in traveling. The curiosity of capturing

the moments arose in those journeys. Started with travel and landscape, Yogesh started his journey to the world of photography. Many of his captured photographs were recognized in the exhibitions. With his journey as a photographer, Yogesh has chosen to walk with Fashion photography and in which at some corner, he has a point of satisfaction. With minimum gear and utilizing more of natural magic which

happens outdoor is one of the key features which has made Yogesh choose outdoor photography instead of Studio with controlled lights. Jassi Oberai and Dani Diamond are the names, he admires a lot and considers their work as his inspiration.

40

41

42

He prefers shooting outdoors due the natural effects appear with the natural light. With plenty of options, Yogesh always decides the location of the photoshoot accordingly.

Yogesh always discusses the poses and location with his models before proceeding for any photoshoots, which he feels an important part of the photography. The photograph always shows up with the good output if the communication with the model and photographer has already taken part in the best possible way.

43

Yogesh has gone through many faces and captured them beautifully. Those frames have always bought a freshness and that's what he wanted from his photography to create a difference when it floats to the crowd.

44

"My gears are Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 7D Mark II with a variety of lenses for portraits and landscapes photography." _ Yogesh 45

Exploring our own creativity in our own work is the best thing I like about being a photographer. I explored many places when I was a travel photographer and I explore amazing people with my portrait photography. - Yogesh 46

Out of many of those worldfamous photographers, Greg Swalles and Arjun Mars are the two photographers whose photography has given a new vision to him. Among many key elements of best practices, Harshal explains that communication is the main practice which a photographer must do while doing any photo shoot with any model. By this means, a photographer expresses what is surprisingly required from the piece of work. Location is always a matter for a better photography and for which Harshal chooses the outdoor or studio location as per the photo shoot to be done.

fashion photography. Mainly Harshal focuses on portraits and fashion photography and which he has made his main themes in photography.

My photography is my inventiveness says Harshal and that's what he desires viewers to glimpse from his photography which will surprisingly explain the perception of what he thinks about fashion photography. The best thing being a photographer is the interaction with new people which always brings ideas in the various themes of photography.

55

Futurism started in Italy as a cutting-edge theory among early 20th century when painters and sculptors, evolved into a cultural movement that swept through the other art forms, including fashion design. Futurism challenged artists to develop new styles that expressed the ideas and sensations of the modern world. - Harshal 56

Technology is shaping today's vision of the future, and the latest generation of futurist fashion designers have embraced engineering. Some designers are using high-tech and highperformance fabric blends with new textures and metallic surfaces to construct more versatile shapes. Patterns that reflect machine components and circuitry have emerged as a trend. - Harshal 57

From the past 13 years, Barry is clicking photographs mainly through his phone and for which he is addicted quite a little bit. His main interest in photography is to perpetrate travel and reportage. Describing the photograph, Barry says that, he clicked this very best moment when his 92-year-old father visited a nursing home to see his 94-year-old mother and these moments happens several times a week which is the quintessential example of the boundless love of husband and his wife.

Heather Belts @heathuhh_photo Washington, USA 60

61

H

eather Belts, from Washington, is a photography enthusiast from the age of 13, but her small camera never realized the projection. Later she

started experimenting with her father's camera by which somewhere she managed to meet her expectation until she bought her own first camera. Heather, in her photographs, tries to bring some existence in offbeat. In other terms, she always reflects her feelings through each photograph she clicks which are often topsy-turvy.

62

Talking about the mastery, she says Lissy Elle which is a sort of ingenuity for her photography. Not going so far, Heather has collaborated with her own friends to bring out a new shape of photography and to transform herself into a better photographer.

My dream collaboration would be with Calob Castellon, who gives a spark in photography. Every photographer must see his work at least once. - Heather Belts

63

An open mind is too important along with the good communication, she says. It's always a good idea to convey the model what exactly the requirement is from the photo shoot instead of just clicking the pictures because most of the moment models are unaware of the actually required conclusion from that particular photo shoot. Heather, as she believes, a good communication is important, always sketches a rough picture before every photo shoot and explains it to each of her model which somehow resolves the problem of a bit hesitation and confusion. What Heather loves is the challenge which she never gets if she does the photo shoot in studios or in the controlled environment. With most of her photoshoots, she loves the daylight and creates the moment on dissimilar marvelous locations. Through her photography, she wants people to see her grow, struggle, and the edge of a tale underneath the photograph. A tale, which one can relate to the real existing experience. Every photograph must have a meaning, does not matter where it is captured. A meaning could be a concept or feeling which can take a captured photograph from middle-of-the-road to astounding. For Heather, a photograph is a good photograph if a story or meaning is reflecting from it. 64

65

66

The best thing about being a photographer is not having any boundaries. As an artist, I can make anything happen, reality doesn’t apply. It’s an imagination playground. If I want to fly, I can fly. If I want a galaxy in my room or house, I can make it happen. Reality has to obey the laws of nature and physics. In Photoshop, there are no limitations outside of skill and imagination. - Heather Belt
