What we want to deal with this work is the last topic. We want to discover if these images that people throw through the social networks influence them in their professional career. Even at the time to find a job. For that, we have started our work keeping in contact with an expert on psychology, who has explained to us the things can you obtain about people form their social network profiles. After that, we have made some surveys to students, in order to see what they think about the use of the social media in a hiring process. Not only that, but also we contacted some companies, in order to ask what is their vision. EXPERT POINT OF VIEW As we just said, for the first part of this work we went to talk with an expert about what he thought about this platforms and what he thinks the firms can get from the accounts of the people they are planning to recruit. We talked a while about what do the firms really look for, and also what characteristics do the enterprises need and what sort of skills they usually want in their futures employees. We then realized that it depends on what type of company we are talking about because it is not the same to be a technological company or a consultant firm. For these reasons we started looking to what things can all the firms have in common and what all of them can really be interested in. First of all we noticed that all the firms, no matter what their mission or vision are about, are interested in people with great willingness to work hard. Due to it, we started looking to what kind of characteristics must someone with that profile and how to discover them through the social networks. As we started our search, the expert encouraged us to analyze the type of people that were using the different platforms, to see what characteristics had the ones using the same social networks in common and which of them had the profile we were looking for. The expert told us some important characteristics about the hard worker people which we summed up in the following: - Punctual - Honest and always friendly - Maintain professional ethics - Organized - Confident Then he told us how to identify those characteristics. The first thing he said that we should try to avoid was to fall in the path of believing those who are usually showing off. He was really insistent on that point because the people who are always talking about their achievements do not tend to be really trustfully. He told as that because people who are always talking about what they have done is either because they are not very sure of themselves or because they are arrogant people. The punctual people, as he stated, are those people who tend to insist about the meeting time to the others, those who usually schedule or organize dinners, meetings or even parties. Talking about parties, he was very clear that partying was not a thing to consider as a bad think, especially among young people. He told us that the important thing is to see how organized and responsible people are after they went on partying. He also said that it is important to see whether they go to parties when important events for their companies or future happen. However, he told us that it can mean two different things, it can mean that whether they are quite 149
