CITY MANAGER'S REPORT MAY15,2023 EXECUTIVE OFFICES OF THE CITY MANAGER 745ForestParkway|ForestPark,GA30297 www.forestparkga.gov|rclark@forestparkga.gov RICKY L. CLARK, JR. CITY MANAGER

May15,2023

GreetingsHonorableMayor,CityCouncilMembersandResidents:

I am honored to present my first monthly report detailing operational activities, upcoming events and other pertinent information. Within my first week, I was able to tour each of our facilities, to start meeting employees and looking at conditions in which our workforce operate. In addition, I have been able to begin reviewing operations to ensure that we are operatinginthemostefficientwaypossible.

Lastweek, weheldagrandopeningceremonyforthenewGillemPublicSafetyBuilding, which isa15,000-square-footfacilitythatwillreplacetheoldFireStation#3.Thebuildingincludesa mini police precinct, conference room, centralized sleeping quarters and an equipped exercise room. In addition, the mayor and I had the opportunity to tour Phase 1 of the new BlueStarStudios,whichis40,000squarefeetoffilmspace.Tosayweekonewasasuccess,is anunderstatement.

Within my swearing-in speech, I committed to rolling out my 100 day plan titled, "One Forest Park." The ONE represents the unified voice that we’ll use as we focus on Operational Efficiency,NeighborhoodSustainabilityandEconomicDevelopment.

These tenets will become our operational call to action that organizes the steps of our municipal departments, local leaders, private and nonprofit organizations, residents, and businesses toward a shared vision for improving our service delivery and overall service deliverymissionfortheCityofForestPark.

This is an important time for the city, and its growth and development must reflect how our citizens and stakeholders choose to live, work, play, and serve to achieve its full potential. SoundleadershipandcollaborationhavepositionedtheCityofForestParkforgreatness, and continuedpartnershipsandcommunitybuildingmustenlightenourstrategicpathforward.

Iamgratefultohaveasupportivemayor, citycouncil, executiveteamandcommunityaswe collectively look forward to the progress that Forest Park has and will continue to achieve by theresultofstrong"forcesworkingtogether!"
