REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Outside of the above list, it is essential for candidates to have some knowledge or understanding of: a. Assessing projects and identifying desired outcomes. b. Grant provision and management.
It is desirable for candidates to be able to demonstrate that they: a. Have the ability to understand and critique financial data for project bids. b. Understand the potential impact of projects, both locally and nationally. c. Understand how football can act as an agent for change. d. Have knowledge of Government priorities and agency issues related to sport, education, and social inclusion.

All Panel Members are expected to be able to demonstrate a working knowledge and a genuine interest in the charitable sector, as well as an interest in sports. Understanding the inter-relationships between Sports Governing Bodies in the UK may be an advantage.
Panel Members are expected to be ‘challenging’, but at the same time respectful of the views of others and not try to press personal and/or political views. They are required to adopt a constructive, collegiate, and supportive approach to this very important role.
A willingness to work respectfully together as part of a team to help the Foundation achieve its aims will be a critical consideration when making appointments.

Additional Information
The Foundation is committed to supporting its Panel Members and provides a thorough induction process to ensure that they understand how the Foundation and the Grants Panel operates. This is a non-remunerated position, although Panel Members may claim reasonable out-of-pocket expenses as a result of carrying out their role.
