New high resolution scans of the eye are now part of a routine assessment at Eyecare Plus. These allow us to show people exactly what is going on with their vision and eye health. The technology is pain free and allows early detection of Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma. Today there are 1000s of different lenses and lens options available to treat vision problems. Most are not the same. At Eyecare Plus we pride ourselves on keeping up to date, and our practices are often involved in trialling products from companies that develop new technology. This allows us to offer the very latest in lenses and frames, so we can provide our patients with comfortable, fashionable eyewear and maximise their vision. Contact lenses continue to evolve, with lenses today being more comfortable and able to correct more vision problems. We can also now use contact lenses to treat short sightedness developing in children. This treatment, called Corneal Reshaping or Ortho-K, helps to slow and minimise the deterioration of vision in short-sighted children.
Learning new techniques is what motivates me and keeps the work interesting and challenging. The Eyecare Plus Team and I love to be able to provide help for people to continue to see well. Vision is a precious gift that we use every day. It provides over 80% of our sensory information, and we dearly miss it when it fails. At Eyecare Plus we find it an honour and a pleasure to be able to care for people’s eyes and vision.
