Seniors Living and Retirement
Needing home care, but waiting for a package? Recent government figures show that there are a large number of older people across Australia who are on the national queue waiting for a home care package to be assigned to them, with some seniors waiting up to 12 months and beyond for their package. While the Government recently announced that 10,000 packages would be released across Australia in early 2019, there will still be a significant number of people waiting for a package. Anglican Care’s Marketing Manager, Kylie Jacques, says that for older Australians preferring to receive support and services in their own home and live independently for as long as possible, it certainly presents many challenges and that is why they created HomeLife Assist.
“Our HomeLife Assist is a great way for people to begin to access much needed support immediately. We can offer up to two hours of services at a cost of $70 a week and once people receive their home care package, we can provide a seamless transfer to a Home Care Package. We make it easy, with a team that people have become familiar with and additional access to our care advisors, case management services, clinical and allied health support teams, and our highly skilled Nurse Practitioner,” says Kylie. For those seniors who have had an ACAT assessment and are eligible for a home care package but are still waiting in the national queue, call our Customer Support Team on 1800 733 553.
