CONVEYANCING SERVICES In early 2014, Therese Ryan took a leap of faith,
establishing her own business, Cornerstone Conveyancing Services..With the recent introduction of
Lyn Rovere to the practice, Cornerstone now offers clients close to six decades of experience and expertise in property law and conveyancing. herese is delighted to have recently welcomed Coffs local, Lyn Rovere, as her business partner. Together, Therese and Lyn bring close to 60 years of legal experience to the partnership and have a remarkable combined skill set. Both women are Licensed and Certified Practising Conveyancers,
as well as Justices of the Peace. Therese attained her Associate Degree in Law (SCU) whilst Lyn holds a Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice (Macquarie University). Therese has also served as a Councillor on the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (NSW Division) for the past two years.
Rounding out the Cornerstone team is Cassie Valentino. Cassie is the conveyancing paralegal and is currently studying a Bachelor of Law through SCU. Therese, Lyn and Cassie are proud to deliver an exceptional and personalised service for those looking at buying or selling property on the Coffs Coast or anywhere in NSW. They recognise that buying and selling is so often a huge step, emotionally and financially, and walk clients through the process with confidence and reassurance. Their conveyancing services extend beyond residential properties to strata title, off the plan, rural and commercial real estate and to those buying and selling small business. At Cornerstone Conveyancing, developing and maintaining strong client relationships is key to their success. This is achieved through trust and integrity, both of which are held in very high regard. Straightforward and transparent advice is also paramount to Cornerstone Conveyancing. Here, Therese and Lyn offer a little insight; how did the partnership come about? We saw the need in the marketplace to provide a boutique, personalised service, where the client and their needs come first. In addition to our experience, the partnership made good sense, as we are both at similar stages in our lives. Our children are now young adults, so we have the time, focus and commitment to build a solid business partnership. We have very similar ethics, experience and understanding of the law. We also share a common sense approach and
appreciate the commercial reality of buying and selling real estate. What do clients often find the most challenging aspect of the conveyancing process? Clients often find all the terminology confusing - for example, the difference between “exchange” and “completion”. Absorbing the Contract terms and understanding their contractual rights and timeframes can be complicated too. We simplify it and translate the legal jargon into plain English. You pride yourselves on experience, trust and integrity. What other values set your business apart? High quality, personal service. Being a Councillor on the AIC has afforded us the opportunity to be a step ahead of others in our industry, as we have up to the minute knowledge of the changes and digital transitions currently taking place. Any exciting industry news you’d like to share? Yes, we’re moving from the manual world of settlements to E-Conveyancing. We love being at the forefront digitally and we’ve embraced PEXA (Property Exchange Australia). PEXA enables us to conduct electronic settlements. We were the first office on the Coffs Coast to do so. The whole process from exchange to settlement can now be done electronically, thereby enabling a more streamlined and efficient process, beneficial to everyone.
